AYŞE TAŞPıNAR Ayse Taspinar, a native of Turkey and DMA from UCLA, has performed at concert halls in New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, Toronto, Ottawa, Mexico City, Caracas, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Santiago, Rome, Milano, Granada, Montreal, Bloomington, Ankara, and Izmir. She is a laureate at numerous competitions and performed for radio and television in the US and Turkey Dr. Taspinar is a specialist in the synthesis of Western and Middle Eastern classical music traditions in the late 19th and early 20th centuries – and is currently engaged in exploring the works of classically trained Turkish and Armenian composers and their influence. Her program will feature a number of these compositions.
