Anugoonj – 28 January, 2018
Anugoonj is an annual fest of Guru Govind Singh
Indraprastha University, Delhi. In this
programme all the departments of University and
all the affiliated college of University participate.
This is a wonderful platform for the students to
show their innate capabilities other than
academic programme. Institute of Vocational
Studies has participated every year in this
programme.
Lohri Celebration- 12 January 2018
One of the major festivals of India, Lohri was
celebrated, with enthusiasm and fanfare at the
institute. Lohri festival is usually celebrated on
13th day of January, every year. Lohri is also
considered as harvest festival and it is an
important day for the farmers.
Cloths Distribution 19th
January, 2018
Apart from academic on students are also
extending their services to various NGOs &
involved in community work. In order to
extend a helping hand, IVS has donated
clothes to needy people in the nearby slum
area of Chirag Delhi, and Sheikh Sarai. We
believe that it’s our duty to the society to help
such people in need.
Harit Spandan- 24th
& 25th
January Harit Spandan “Srijan: A step towards
making a green planed” is celebrated annually
on 24th
January, 2018 by “Eco-club” of ACE in
order to spread awareness regarding
environmental protection. It was an awareness
campaign for encouraging the plantation of trees
and to create awareness among people about the
benefits of a forestation. Trees are planted by our
chief guests and other dignitaries. It is celebrated
every year in IVS by organizing inter college
competitions. There was many events such as
poster making, essay writing, slogan writing, just
a minute, quiz, etc.
Board Decoration Activity
We organized board decoration activity for students. The students
participated in this activity with a great zeal. They decorated the board based
on different themes such as girl child, pollution, Clean India, Green India,
Global warming etc. The decoration was eye-catching. The students got a
platform to show their creativity and critical thinking.
Feb -2018
KHELO INDIA School Games 2018
was organised to encourage and foster
brotherhood and cultural enrichment by bringing
all the member states under one banner to create a
healthy disciplined show of sportsmanship. The
1st edition of Khelo India School Games held in
New Delhi from 31st january to 8th February
2018.The vision was to overcome all cultural,
religious, racial or political barriers so the
youngsters come and play together.
KISG 2017 covered 16 disciplines spread over 5
venues in Delhi. The disciplines were athletics,
swimming, Hockey, Football, Volleyball, boxing,
kabaddi, Basketball, Archery, Kho-Kho,
Badminton, Wrestling, Weightlifting Gymnastic,
Shooting and Judo. It was organised in five
International venues at New Delhi .
The students of Institute of vocational
studies participated in the event from NSS
throughout the event from inauguration to closing
ceremony.
It was a great experience for the students to
witness the whole event. At the end the students
received certificates.

“If you’re brave enough to say goodbye, life will

Organizing a farewell party is an awesome way to
bid goodbye education department of ACE
organized farewell party on 1st & 2
nd February
2018, in the college campus. Various cultural
events were organized by the students. Token of
love & appreciation was given to the students by
their juniors in memento distribution ceremony.
Visit to Suraj Kund-07th
February, 2018
An educational trip was organized by the Institute
of Vocational Studies to “Surajkund Internatioanl
Crafts Mela on 7th
February, 2018”. The student
was accompanied by the faculty members. A visit
to the Mela made the students aware about the
importance of crafts which is essential aspect of
India’s cultural diversity. At the mela the students
got a glimpse of the diverse culture and handicraft
work.
Alumni Meet- 10th
Feb 2018
Institute of Vocational Studies organized alumni meet on 10th
February, 2018. It commenced with the recitation of Quaranic
verses and Saraswati Vandana. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Niranjana
Soperna addressed all the alumni member, welcoming them.
It was followed by a cultural programme prepared by the
B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. students at the end our alumni members
share their experiences and inspiring stories.
Mussoorie trip- 24th
to 28th
February 2018
Institute of Vocational Studies organized a trip for all B.Ed. and
D.El.Ed. students to Mussoorie on 24th
Feb to 28th
Feb, 2018. It’s a
four day educational trip. Students had teachers accompanying them
who were always there to take care of them. In this educational trip
students visited many place like. Dehradun, Kampty Fall, Kamartaal
etc. students participated in many activities mountain biking,
trekking, rock climbing and rappelling. The whole journey was full of
excitement and students enjoyed a lot.

Faculty Development Programme
A Faculty Development Programme on ‘Research Skills
Development’ was held at Institute of Vocational Studies under
the guidance of our Principal Dr. Niranjana Soperna from 22nd
March to 28th March, 2018. The FDP aims to provide
opportunities to faculty members, research scholars and students
to enrich their teaching skill and research in the field of
education. The programme was inaugurated in the morning at the
auditorium on 22nd
March, 2018 by the hands of Mr. Khalid
Hashmi, Director, Awadh Centre of Education(Chief Guest),
Prof. D.D. Aggarwal, University of Delhi (Resource person) and
Dr. Niranjana Soperna, Principal IVS. It was followed by Quranic
verses and Shiv Vandana. Dr. D.D Aggarwal, Retd. Associate
Professor, University of Delhi, Dr. Niradhar Dey, School of
Education, IGNOU, Dr.Nahar Singh, Joint Director, SCERT,
Delhi, Prof. S.K Mangal, Former Principal, C.R College of
Education, Rohtak, and Prof.IlyasHussain, Department of
Educational Studies, Jamia-Millia-Islamia were the resource
persons of various sessions.The FDP programme received an
overwhelming response with 50 participants from various
colleges and institutions from Delhi and outside Delhi. Overall it
was a very beneficial and informative progamme.
Students Seminar on “Development of Professionalism
through Preliminary School Engagement(PSE)”
5th
March, 2018
The Institute of Vocational Studies organized a student’s
seminar on the theme “Development of Professionalism
through Preliminary School Engagement (PSE)” with a
number of sub-themes which are:- Instructional Methods &
Approaches, Classroom Management, Inclusive Practices
during internship, SWOT Analysis of Preliminary School
Engagement, Innovative teaching learning strategies,
Effectiveness of AV aids in student’s learning, suggested
activities for the different phases of teaching, Use of OER in
teaching learning process, etc. The seminar was held on 5th
march 2018.
The seminar was inaugurated with lamp lightening, Quranic
Verses and Shiv Vandana. The welcoming speech was
delivered by Dr. Niranjana Soperna, Principal, Institute of
Vocational Studies. The purpose of the seminar was to
acquaint pupil teachers with the culture of the school, to
enable them to reflect on the innovative pedagogical strategies
during PSE and to enable them to become a good classroom
manager. There were more than 70 presenters who came from
different colleges. The vote of thanks was given by the
seminar coordinator Dr. Gulshan Mufeed to the Principal,
(IVS) Dr. Niranjana Soperna, the faculty members, the
volunteers for their constant support to make this event a
success and paid her gratitude to all the presenters for their
active participation
May- June, 2018
Awadh Day
One of the most awaited occasions in any institute
is its annual day. “Awadh Day” forms an integral
part of our Institute activities. IVS celebrated its
22nd
Annual Day on 15th
March, 2018 amidst great
zest, vibrancy and elation.
The programme commenced with the lighting of
ceremonial lamp by the Hon’ble Chairperson Mr.
Naushad Khalid, Director Khalid Hashmi and
Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Niranjana Soperan. It followed
by recitation of quaranic verses and Ganesh
Vandana by B.Ed. students. Principals of different
department provided their annual report.
All the students were very excited and filled with
fun, frolic & amusement. It was indeed a
spectacular display of talent & fervor. Various
entertainment programme were staged by the
students showcasing their talents like, dance,
singing, fashion shows etc. It was followed by the
annual prize distribution ceremony. The entire
Institute participated whole heartedly towards the
success of their grand event. The triumph was made
possible by the relentless efforts of our Principal
Dr. (Mrs.) Niranjana Soperan.
Inter & Intra House Competition
Cultural activities at IVS offer an excellent podium
to the students to express their skills and aptitude.
Competitions in quizzed, debates, presentations,
group discussions to check the academic
knowledge of students and dance, songs, skills,
poetry and poster making to assess the cultural
depth satisfy each category of students. Cultural
activities are conducted every Friday to provide an
ambience of healthy competition amongst the
students as each student gets an opportunity to
display his/her skills.
The International yoga day
The International yoga day was celebrated on 21st
June 2018. In accordance with that the college
organised a Yoga session for all the faculty & non
faculty members of the Institute. A yoga trainer was
called who started the session with a simple
namaskar. Different yogic exercises were
performed by the participants in the guidance of the
yoga trainer. Overall it was a good effort with all
the participants appreciating the move by the
college as they felt really relaxed & enthusiastic
