Dear Friends

This Sunday is Palm Sunday, one of the most important days in the Christian calendar. Palm Sunday, often referred to as "Passion Sunday," marks the beginning of Holy Week, which concludes on Easter Sunday. The Bible reveals that when

Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey, the crowds greeted him by waving palm branches and covering his path with palm branches. In the simplest of terms, Palm Sunday is an occasion for reflecting on the final week of Jesus' life. It is a time for Christians to prepare their hearts for the agony of His Passion and the joy of His Resurrection.

This Sunday at Mass we will have a procession of palms and hear the Passion Gospel.

Students are welcome to participate.

Lord, you set your face towards Jerusalem and walked alongside those who suffer. Be our vision that we too may walk the way of the cross and extend a hand to those we meet.

Lord, give us the gladness of your help And support us with a willing spirit.

Lord, you stopped to heal the sick, cure the lame and give sight to the blind. Be our vision that we too may give time to others and respond to their needs.

Lord, give us the gladness of your help And support us with a willing spirit.

Lord, you took time to pray and time to be silent. Be our vision that through our prayers, fasting and almsgiving we too may draw closer to you and find your way.

Lord, give us the gladness of your help And support us with a willing spirit For you are our hope and our salvation.

Easter Raffle Many thanks to all who have sent in the donations of chocolate eggs for the Easter Raffle. It would be greatly appreciated if all donations and sold tickets could be sent in to school by next Wednesday 1st April. The raffle will be drawn with the students on Thursday 2nd April. Please contact the school if you would like more tickets to buy/sell. Classroom Desks The students are very excited to have new desks in the classroom. These were kindly donated to school by Marist College Canberra. Mr Eamonn Moore who was principal at St Columba’s many years ago and is now principal of Marist College Junior School kindly offered us the desks and other resources.

School Photos A reminder that school photos will be taken on Monday 27th April (Week 2 Term 2). Photo order forms must be in by the end of Week 1 next term. Best wishes to Bonnie-sue & James for their Wedding Day this coming Saturday. May they be blest with much happiness.

Young Leaders Recount by Milo Hunter On Sunday at about 7:10am two cars turned up at my house and so a great adventure began. We drove for while before reaching the Wise Browns AKA Simon, Charlie and Toby’s grand parents and dropped them off. We stopped at the great city of Bathurst and got McCafe. It was yum. We then stopped at Leura at the Lolly shop, where Mr Brown shouted us all some treats!! Also yum. Finally we reached Sydney and we picked up our old school chum Phoebe and then we went to the Oaks Goldsbourgh Apartments. We were staying on the penthouse level. It was very nice, I loved it. After that we went to China Town for lunch. It was delicious. We walked around China Town and Paddy’s Markets before going back to our room to get ready for dinner at Phillips’ Foote at the Rocks. We took in the sights of Circular Quay , the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. After an exciting day we finally got back to our apartment and got ready for sleep and then went off to the world of nod. But the room was cold so there was a slight delay to nod but we did get there. Our adventure continued the next day beginning with Coco Pops for breakfast. Then we went to the Entertainment Centre and lined up to go inside for Young Leaders Day. When we got in, it was a massive group of kids, about 6,000. The first speaker made a good start, Mike Martin, who really loved science and stories. So he was inspiring. The second speaker was Mike Baird, he was also great and inspiring. The third speaker was Bindi Irwin, who is inspired by carrying on her father’s legacy. The fourth speaker was one of my favourites, Rachael Leahcar. She was great because even though she is blind she turned it into her strength. The last speakers were 2 guys who helped make the movie, Paper Planes. They were really good and inspiring. They were my number one speakers. After our

day at Young Leaders we began the long ride home. We arrived at my house at 9:00pm and then I went to bed.
