Lee Blinder is a white non-binary trans person who was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Montgomery County Maryland. They are the founder of Trans Healthcare MD, a not for profit formed to promote trans wellness throughout Maryland by increasing access to affirming services and resources while nurturing young trans leadership

Deborah Dunn, MBA, PAC is a family practice physician assistant and the Trans Health Coordinator of the LGBT Resource Center for Chase-Brexton Health Care. In addition to graduating from Howard University’s physician assistant program, Deb has an MBA from Johns Hopkins University.

In their position at Chase-Brexton, P.A. Dunn’s provides leadership and coordination of care for transgender-identified patients, establishes best practices for medical transgender care, trains other medical providers, provides consultation to external organizations on transgender-related issues including employee transition, engages in advocacy at the state level, and identifies research and funding opportunities related to transgender care.

Deb has a large panel of LGBTQ patients that provide primary care services to as well as transgender/gender non binary patients that Deb transitions by prescribing hormones. Deb also serves on national teams of expert transgender medical professionals to write guidelines for treating and prescribing medications for adults and adolescents who are transitioning. Deb was also part of the team that wrote “Gender: Joy (Journey of Youth)”, a multidisciplinary program written for trans/gender diverse youth, adolescents, and families, which was launched Jan 2016 and as of Nov 2017 has over 850 patients.

Deb has presented at numerous national conferences, engaged in strategic planning with several nonprofit organizations, and volunteered throughout the local community.

Karen Kendra Holmes works for the Federal Government as a Safety Officer. Karen received on June 7, 2018 by Capital Pride the Engendered Spirit Award. She was also a TED Talk speaker with TEDxAsbury Park, NJ on May 19, 2018 titled 40 Years and Wandering No More.

In April 2017 she received the 2017 Monica Roberts Advocacy Award. She was selected in January 2017 by LGBTQ Nation as one of the “Top 50 Successful Transgender Americans You Should Know”. In May of 2015, she was honored in a special edition among 41 other women from around the world in The Platform Magazine, for up and inspiring females who have made a difference with their platform and inspired others with their positive values towards others.

In April 2014 she received the “Willis Greene Community Service Award” and the “Unsung Hero Award-Team” by the Corporation for National & Community Service. In October 2013 she received “Soldier of the Year”, out of the country, by the State Guard Association of the United States out of 24 states and 23 thousand soldiers.

In December 2012 she received “Non Commission Officer Soldier of the Year” by the Maryland State Guard Association and the Maryland Defense Force. She was selected in August 2012 by The International Women’s Leadership Association, "A Woman of Outstanding Leadership in the Business Owner Division". Right now serving since January 2018 with the U. S. Veteran Reserve Corps as a Sergeant First Class with Force Protection and a Chaplain’s Assistance.

She is currently the chapter President of the Transgender Veterans Support Group (TVSG) –Maryland. She has her own side business named SafetyFirst DMV as a certified as an instructor through the National Safety Council (NSC). Karen believes whole heartedly in the importance of and Giving Back to her Community.

Charmaine Eccles is an African American Transwoman from Washington, DC. She works for DC Government as a 911 Telecommunications Transcriptionist for the Office of Unified Communication. Charmaine is a local advocate and she advocates for Transwoman employment. She has worked closely with the Office of LGBTQ Affairs by assisting in affording transwoman like herself the opportunity of obtaining gainful employment. In 2018 she joined the “Hate Bias Task Force” with the US Attorney’s Office of the District of Columbia.

She currently leads the Transgender Day of Remembrance in DC and was passed the torch from the Honorable Trans activist “The Advocate” Earline Budd to lead this yearly reoccurring event. In December of 2018 she received the “Spirit Award” at the Solutions Conference. She has been advocating for the trans community for over 10 years, even well before she transitioned herself in September of 2015.

In the later part of 2015 and the earlier part of 2016 Charmaine had been attacked numerous times and she is a survivor of gun violence. Ever since then, her goal is to make sure that for each transwoman in the District of Columbia that encounters violence, that justice is served. She is a motivational speaker and life coach to many young LGBT youth. She has volunteered with “May is all about trans”, HIPS and she works part-time at Casa Ruby as a housing monitor. Charmaine believes than everyone has the capability of manifesting their dreams and making it a reality.

Aurora Lloyd is a 25 year old Singer/Songwriter, Howard University Student, Dancer, Choreographer, Actress and Activist hailing from Philadelphia, PA but grew up in both Philadelphia, PA and Lithonia, GA. She has been performing since she was 8 years old. Being inspired by her uncle Eric Ruffin to be a performer after seeing and meeting the cast of "Bring in 'da Noise, Bring in 'da Funk". All through her school years she was in the Choir, Dance team, Step team, Dallas Austin Music Foundation, Tameko Star's "Star House Entertainerz". She has been advocate and activist since High School working with Us Helping Us, True Colors, Evolution Project, Breaking Ground Project, and The Gay Men’s Health Collaborative. While she was in 11th grade she became a Celebrity Wardrobe Stylist working with Jeremiah, Busta Rhymes, Soulja boy and Arab, Ace Hood, Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, and Trey Songz.

Managed by Joey Joel Media LLC she has written music for the web-series "Willology" and "The Art of D" which both she stars in. She has also written for and/or worked with local and independent artists; Davis (Moonshine), Juju B Jadior (B’Day), Mike Dub (Songwriter), Bree London, Demetrius White (Choreographer), Mosiah, MyeaE (Producer), Tim TimTaylor (Songwriter/Photographer), Michael Bradford (Choreographer), Derrick Cox (Dancer), Lady Dane Figueroa Edidi (Stay With Me), Quentin Marcellis, JhonnyDoBetter(Producer), Jay Lautner (Graphic Design) and Mr. Bouvier (Say Yes).

She released her first mixtape in October of 2016 called "#InsidemyNotebook" containing interesting sounds of Trap, R&B, Pop, Poetry, Neo-Soul and Opera. Kicking things off with her growing popular First Single "High Key" the world is not ready for the change she is about to bring.

Gia Martinez

Gia Martinez is currently working at Nova Salud Inc, as a Health Educator/ Trans PrEP Navigator/Advocate. Most importantly she is a 41 year old trans woman. Gia started in the HIV outreach field as a condom distributer and volunteer in 2001 with La Clinica Del Pueblo in this group called GrupoMariposas.

Now Gia runs a group called T-SISTA which is a program adopted from the SISTA Intervention from CDC. Its core 5 focus areas are: 1. Ethnic and Gender Pride 2. HIV/AIDS, STIs, Sex and drugs 3. Condom negotiation and communication 4. Safer sex behaviors and skills 5. Skills Review.

Amy Nelson – Legal Advisor, Queer Lesbian Woman Amy Nelson is the Director of Legal Services at Whitman-Walker Health (WWH) in Washington, DC, a holistic community health center and the oldest medical-legal partnership (since 1986!) offering transgender, primary, and HIV healthcare; mental health and addiction services; dental care; medical case management; and legal services.

WWH specializes in serving DC’s LGBTQI and HIV communities, and opens its doors to all clients regardless of status or income. In 2017, WWH served more than 16,000 persons, including more than 3,000 legal clients -- one-fifth of whom identify as transgender. Amy is a frequent speaker on trans health and legal issues, and managed the creation of DC’s first name and gender change legal clinic in 2012.

In 2014, Amy was recognized as a “Shero of the Movement” by the DC Mayor's Office of LGBTQ Affairs, and honored with Capital TransPride’s Engendered Spirit award.

Dane Ray has been a helping professional since being ordained as an itinerant deacon in the (African) Methodist (Episcopal) church in 1999. In 2015, I had the pleasure of entering into marriage with my partner and wife Anna Marie Ray.

I am an academic researcher and human services professional. My passion in life is to be engaged and proactive with the facilitation of knowledge, to expand competency around race and gender while advocating for equitable treatment and visibility of persons who are either gender expansive or disabled. I look forward to obtaining my PhD in Public Health around human behavior to better position my platform in life.

I have lectured, presented research, and/or facilitated at : Spelman, Morehouse, and Clark Atlanta, Philadelphia Trans Health Conference (2014-2019), Black Trans Advocacy Conference, the Masculine of Center Conference (2017), Planning Committee for Change (D.C.), Board Member of May is? Alexander Ramirez - is a registered nurse with his master’s in public health. He has worked in healthcare for over a decade and volunteers with the D.C. Department of Health's Medical Reserve Corps. He was born in Iowa but now resides in the DMV area.

Alexa Elizabeth Rodriguez is originally from Usulután, El Salvador where she founded Mi Nueva Familia. Mi Nueva Familia is a working group for people living with HIV and for transgender women. In 2009, Alexa arrived in the United States and continued her work as an HIV/STI prevention educator with groups such as Identity Inc., Mariposas Group, Empoderáte Youth Center, and Casa de Maryland HIV Program.

Rodriguez currently is a promoter for Miss Maryland Latin@ and Miss Translatina, Former Vice-President of Latino GLBT History Project, an avid advocate for Transgender Latina equality, and a member of the National Trans-Latina Coalition and Executive Director of Trans-Latina DMV – a national and local organization that advocates for and builds the capacity of transgender Latina immigrants. She worked as the Youth Center Transgender Program Coordinator for La Clinica del Pueblo in Washington D.C. Her work involved providing HIV testing to clients and leading weekly transgender youth support groups as a counselor and mentor. In addition, Rodriguez still supports the Center by planning leadership and social events for transgender youth.

Alexa held the title of Miss Latino GLBT History Project 2012-13, was honored with the Engendered Spirit Award by Capital Trans Pride in 2014, received the Heil-Balin Community Service Award from the Gertrude Stein Democratic Club in 2014, The Carmen Martin Award of Excellence 2015 by Latin Soul Productions at Miss Gay Peru 2015-2016, and The Community Leadership Award at the 2016 Hispanic Heritage LGBT Awards by the GLBT Latino History Project.

Rodriguez arrived in the United States ready to fight and work for the transgender community. She saw transphobia persist in her home country and wanted to ignite a call for action. She has been an activist for 14 years fighting for the rights of people living with HIV and members of the transgender community. As a transgender and HIV positive individual, Alexa will continue to fight to make sure her community does not fail.

Patti D. Shaw is a 54 years old post-op transgender woman, and a native Washingtonian. She attended DC Public Schools and the University of the District of Columbia. She has been an activist since 1991 to fight the HIV/AIDS epidemic, as well as homelessness within the Transgender community. She was also a facilitator of TADD (Transgenders Against Defamation and Discrimination) in 1993 at HCC (HIV Community Coalition).

Ms. Shaw has also been an entertainer for over 30 years. She’s a member of Mount Calvary Church. She’s also one of the founders of Shuggs(Serving Hugs Uplifting Gender with Grace and Service) Place, an up & coming organization that works for the betterment of the Transgender Community and Gender Non-Conforming individuals.

She is also serving as a Community Health Navigator for Damien Ministries. Ms. Shaw loves cooking and partaking in different culinary endeavors.
