MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD September is finally here and the Board of Trustees is overflowing with joy and enthusiasm as Unity Christ Church prepares to experience a month filled with an abundance of Spiritual activi-ties.

We are starting off this month with the Unity World Day of Prayer. UCC will be hosting a live stream of the opening ceremonies in the sanctuary of our church on September 12, 2018 at 6:30 PM. Please put this date and time on your schedule and plan to attend. It promises to be an experience to remember and a night filled with infinite possibilities. We will also have a signup sheet for those who want to make a commitment to pray on September 13, 2018 . Look for the sign-up sheets in the Foyer of the church.

In the middle of September (15th-16

th) the congregants of Unity Christ Church will be taking a

journey to Unity Village ( our World Headquarter) at Unity Village, Missouri. Enthusiasm and excitement is abounding as we prepare to visit and experience the rich history of our founders and the evolution of the Unity Movement. If you are interested in going on this adventure, there is still time to sign up.

For the last few months, we have been announcing the Sacred Healing Service and now the time is here. On September 22, 2018, the Prayer Chaplains of the four local Unity Churches are joining together to present a Healing Service to the St. Louis Community. In the program, we will be exploring the foundation of Spiritual Healing in the Unity movement and its current methods and practices used in Healing. Additionally, participants will learn about other Spiritual traditions and the methods they use in healing. Participants will also be given the opportunity to experience the various healing modalities. The program starts at 9:30 A.M. and will conclude at 1:00P.M. Please join the Prayer Chaplains for this Spirit- filled event.

September at Unity Christ Church is turning out to be filled with an abundance of GOOD activi-ties. WE are thankful and grateful to Spirit for opening our consciousness to experience and receive an abundance of all GOOD Things. As we continue to move forward in faith and love let us Affirm:

God’s Good is flowing in, through and as us in Divinely Ordered and Perfect Ways.

SACRED HEALING SERVICE

The Prayer Chaplains of Unity Christ Church, First Unity, Unity South and Unity Church of Light are joining together to present a Sacred Healing Service to the St. Louis Community. This service will have both educa-tional and experiential components.

The Program begins with Unity’s foundation in Spiritual Healing, followed by presentations on the current meth-ods of healing practiced in Unity (Affirmative Prayer and Meditation). Healing approaches from other spiritual paths and traditions will be explored as well.

Participants will have the opportunity to experience both Unity‘s healing methods and other spiritual ap-proaches to healing including Crystal Bowls, Drumming, and Yoga. Additionally, there will be information booths featuring, Healthy Eating (nutrition), aromatherapy and much more. Healthy snacks will be pro-vided.

From the Prayer Ministry

Dear Friends

Kids are back to school and autumn is in the offing! September is the month we honor the faculty of order. Order

is heaven’s first law, and everything unfolds in divine order. When we live in the presence of God, we follow in

His Orderly ways. We have spiritual order and we also have material order in all of God’s creation.

Mind, idea and expression reflect the purposeful unfoldment of Christ in each of us. We could say that God as the

Father is mind, Christ His Son is the Idea, and the Holy Spirit is God in Action. What we hold in mind, we can

behold and express just as the Trinity. Remember order is discipline to God’s ways, and His greatest way is

LOVE.

Scripture: John 14:23 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) 23 Jesus answered him, “Those who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we

will come to them and make our home with them.

Affirmation: God’s divine order is established and maintained in my life. Then prayer for the month: Loving Lord, I pray for the awareness of your presence in my life and in the lives of all around us. Thank

you Father for your ever present order in my life.

Regardless of where you are in your Spiritual Journey, prayer lifts you higher and empowers you as an instrument

of God. Taking the time (and it doesn’t have to be long), to pray keeps you connected. Prayer is abiding in the

presence of God-receiving the Christ and sharing your divinity. REMEMBER – OPPORTUNITY TO PRAY

WORLD DAY OF PRAYER WITH UNITY THIS MONTH.

Thoughts From The Heart (reprint 2014)

I have been reflecting over my life and contemplating how I came to be at this place in Conscious-ness. As I look back over my experiences, I observe how everything and every event, seemed to un-fold in the right and perfect way; I am in awe and amazed as I recall how perfectly the situations and circumstances of my life appeared to unfold so lovingly. I even recall when I first began to recognize, know and accept that everything evolved in the right and perfect way. This realization allowed me to truly understand that there are no mistakes or errors in God’s Universe for it operates in a Perfect, Orderly and very well Planned way.

As I contemplate the orderliness of the Universe, I am reminded of the words of our Co-founder, Charles Fillmore, who states in The Revealing Word that, “ Order is the first law of the Universe. In-deed, there would be no universe unless its various parts were kept in perfect order. The facts of Spirit are of spiritual character and, when understood in their right relation, they are orderly. Orderli-ness is law and the test of true science.”

With this understanding in mind, I stop and contemplate how everything in the Universe seems to consistently operate in a forward moving and harmonious way. I think about the stars in the sky and how they show up each night to dazzle us with their brilliant light. I think about the seasons and how they seem to know when to move from summer to fall and then from winter to spring. And of course, I am always mesmerized as I observe how the flowers of spring simply know when to push their way up through the earth towards the sun each year. I am truly astounded when I take note, at how all of God’s creatures seem to know exactly what to do and when to do it, at all times. I am even more amazed as I think about the acorn and how it knows to grow into a mighty Oak tree. All of this order I see in the external world, I intuitively know also applies to me.

As I begin to apply these same observations to myself, I begin to remember how I have progressively moved from one state of Being to another and how with each movement in Consciousness I grew more aware of the Spirit that resides Within, at the center of my Being. For me it has been a very or-derly process and I feel that I was guided from Within and I intuitively knew exactly what to do. I re-call all those wonderful periods of time where I knew that joy and happiness were all mine and knew that God gave it all so lovingly to me. I also remember the times when everything seemed so hard as I struggled to change just one more bit of error in my thoughts! I recall the emotional upheaval I felt within and how I felt I would never make it through this transition in Consciousness; and at that per-fect moment, I had a breakthrough. As I sit back and reflect on these seemingly opposite experi-ences (and all the other challenges I have faced in my life), I begin to know and accept that they were all necessary, and I further understand that they were all in Divine and Perfect Order as well. These situations needed to occur so that I could grow into my next level of Awareness; allowing me to be firmly planted at the center of my Being clearly expressing the Christ of God in me.

So, as we continue on our Spiritual Path, growing, evolving and unfolding, let us be mindful and know that each and every situation and circumstance that occurs in our lives is necessary and is oc-curring in a Divinely Ordered and Perfect way.------Always leading us to express the Truth of who we are—The Christ of God.

Let Us Daily Affirm:

“I Am One with the Harmonious, Continuous, Forward movement of God’s Universe.”

Unity World Day of Prayer

September 13, 2018

World Day of Prayer is a 24-hour prayer vigil and meditation.

September 13, 2018, marks the 25th anniversary of the event, and thou-sands of individuals and communi-ties around the world will come to-gether to affirm and celebrate the true spiritual nature of healing.

Unity Christ Church will be hosting a live stream of the opening ceremo-nies in the sanctuary of our church on Wednesday, September 12th at 6:30pm.

We hope that you put this date and time on your calendar and plan to attend. It promises to be an experi-ence to remember and a night filled with infinite possibilities.
