Ran into Valerie after all these years, quite an experience since she has somelife. First of all she looks as alive as shewas in her 30s. She is also stillthe far right symbol of conser-vatism where she is against anyabortion, gay rights and whatev-er else you can come up with. She has an 11-year-old daughter,is a widow, teaches SundayBible School and that’s herSunday gig. The rest of the weekshe has a good job and also asuper sex drive. She marvels that at herage, nothing has changed for her. She justloves to make love, as she puts it, “Showme a man, any man during the week, andI’ll show you a target for the day or theweek.” I once asked her how her politicsand her sex drive, exactly go together andher answer was: “I have a body that wantsto make love every day and eat grapes andI have a brain that tells me to cool it,which I really can’t listen to during the

week. However on Sundays, when I teachSunday School, some of it sinks in and Iconcentrate on what I’m “teaching the

children.” She really is a n amazing per-

son because she has no illusionsas to what she is or does. Shedoesn’t consider herself a superbrain but just a woman wholikes her life with all the unusu-al ideas she has. She has yet tofind a man or two or three tokeep up with her. She is a also

careful as to the friends for her daughter.Better be straight up and no lookingaround. She is watching the daughter butwhat if her genes run over into her? Shecan spot a kid on the make and her daugh-ter will not be pure. That could be a prob-lem. Maybe she might go after thoseyoung ones and wipe them out before theytry her own daughter. That might keep thedaughter pure and isn’t that what a moth-er should do?

A trawl is a large wide-mouthed fish-ing net dragged by a boat along the seabottom for the purpose of catching fish. Itcatches all kinds of fish. Some are desir-able, some are not. You never know whatyou will catch in your net. Trawling is alsoa term used to describe a style of fishingwhere there are several lines or fishingrods in the water on either side of the boatat the same time. The boat moves alongslowly and more than one fish can becaught at one time. The more lines youhave and or the larger your net, the morefish you are likely to catch.

You should always have your linesin the water. You should always have yournet in the water also. You never knowwhat or whom you may attract. You mightfind someone who will help you in yourcareer or be your friend or life partner. No

lines, no net, will result in no body. You can increase your chances of

catching something desirable by selectingyour fishing grounds carefully. You canincrease the odds of catching the right fishby focusing on the area that those particu-lar fish are attracted to. You do have tofish in the right waters and you do have touse the right bait and lures. Research andknowledge are important for the bestresults. You have to know which fish arekeepers and which fish should be putback. Time and experience will make youmore discriminating and successful.

Check your net or your lines frequent-ly. Your net may have developed a hole ofsome kind that needs to be repaired. Yourlines may have lost their bait and they willneed to be reset.

The challenge is to keep trying evenif you do not seem to catch anything oranyone. Keep trying. Don’t allow doubtsor discouragement to keep you from keep-ing your lines or net in the water.

“No dogs allowed” is themantra for many condo-miniums and residents whosneak in lap dogs, and aresubject to punishment. Butwhat if a dog is specifically‘ordered’ by a physician toaid with the resident’s men-tal health? What’s a condoassociation to do?Recently, a Florida fed-

eral court claimed a condo-minium association violatedfederal law when it failed togive a temporary accommo-dation to a resident with an animal neededfor the health and emotional support of theresident. In the case cited, the condo didallow smaller dogs under 25 lbs., but whenthe owner brought in a larger dog the asso-ciation demanded the dog be removed. The owner provided a doctor’s note pre-

scribing the dog to help relieve Post Trau-matic Stress Disorder, but the associationrequested additional information about theowner’s mental health and treatments. Andthat’s when the lawsuit began. The ownerssued the Association, alleging violations ofthe Fair Housing Act.Ultimately, the court ruled in favor of the

condo (and dog) owner, claiming that theAssociation violated the Fair Housing Act

when it requested further in-formation. The Court statedthat the Association nevergave a “temporary exemp-tion” to the owner duringits investigation, and de-manded that he remove thedog in 30 days, unless hecould provide the requestedinformation. The dog stays. “Associ-

ations should be aware thatthey are not compelled toaccommodate every requestfor support animals, but

should offer temporary exemption during in-vestigation,” said Joshua Krut, an attorneyand partner withWeiss Serota Helfman Pas-toriza Cole & Boniske. “If the exemption ismade permanent, the condo owner mustcomply with the appropriate rules and re-striction that are then associated with petownership. Associations have every right toenforce those rules, even if they pertain toonly one resident.”Joshua Krut is a Partner at Weiss Serota

In today’s global economy, conducting business overseasdoes not have to be daunting.U.S. businesses are reapingnotable profits from interna-tional trade, as the globalmarketplace is creating op-portunities more than everbefore—leveling the playingfield for companies of allsizes and in nearly everycountry.Taking into consideration

the challenges of trading in-ternationally – political andcommercial – a risk mitigation plan inclu-sive of pre- and post-export financing canhelp you maximize your borrowing poten-tial, increase sales and reduce risks.Trade financing optionswith Ex-Im BankOne way to minimize risk is through the

Export-Import Bank of the United States(Ex-Im Bank). Founded in 1934 by the U.S.Congress, this independent agency of theFederal Government provides U.S. busi-nesses with services that encourage exportsof U.S. goods.Working Capital GuaranteeProgram (WCGP) (Pre- andPost-Export Financing)• A WCGP line of credit allows you to

convert up to 75% of eligible inventory (rawmaterial, WIP and finished product) and upto 90% of accounts receivable generatedfrom the sale of eligible inventory.• This program also assists U.S. exporters

in obtaining loans up to three years to pro-duce goods and services for export, wherebyEx-Im assumes 90% of the credit risk (cov-ers exporter performance risk; inventorymust be pre-sold).• A few pre-qualified institutions such as

Mercantil Commercebank - known as dele-gated authority lenders - operate as partnerswith Ex-Im and have the authority to ap-prove a WCGP facility on their behalf.• AWCGP facility guarantees the lender,

not the exporter, in the eventof non-payment by thebuyer.Export CreditInsurance Program(Post-Export Financing):• U.S. exporters can obtain

Ex-Im credit insurance forexport sales, while providingeligible international buyerswith favorable credit terms.• Ex-Im assumes 90 to

95% of non-payment risk.• U.S. exporters can in-

crease cash flow by expand-ing their borrowing base to include theirexport-related foreign receivables. Many would assume that these services

are only available to large corporations, yetEx-Im Bank approved more than $6.1 bil-lion in authorizations directly supportingsmall-business export sales in 2012 – an Ex-Im record. What your bank will need toassist you with Ex-Im programsA complete financial package may in-

clude:• Financial Statements with full disclo-

sures (3 years)• Current Interim Financial Statement• Signed Corporate Income Tax Returns

(3 years)• Current DetailedAging ofAccounts Re-

ceivables, and Payables• Inventory Listing• Two (2) supplier references• Current Bank References• Corporate Background• Curriculum Vitae of principals, includ-

ing personal tax returns• Copies of Articles of Incorporation• Credit Report (not older than 6 months)Mercantil Commercebank is proud to be

When Elizabeth Shwartzcracked her tooth, a feelingof dread came over her. Itwasn't just the thought ofcracking one of her molarsthat caused her anxiety. What had her worried wasall the time she expected tospend in the dentist's chair."I previously cracked atooth, and the temporary fellout while I was in public,"she said. "Then the newcrown didn't fit, so I had toreturn for another dentalvisit. "It was a nightmare,"she said. This time, her experience was just the op-

posite, thanks to new technology being usedby her dentist, Dr George Georgiev fromSunny Isles Dental. He is one of a growingnumber of dentists equipped with a devicethat creates a three-dimensional model ofpatients' teeth. The machine then makescrowns, caps and fillings while the patientwaits. "You no longer need to have to get atemporary crown that falls out after threedays," said Dr George "We can create yourpermanent crown in 10 minutes." Combinedwith his master technician, Edgar they aretrue experts , created more than 4000 of thisrestorations. When Elizabeth came in to repair her

tooth, she didn't have to sink her gums intothe gooey, mint -flavored mold paste thathas been a staple of dentistry for decades.Instead a 3D digital impression was takenwith high-tech scanning pen. The computeroverlaid a model of a "perfect tooth" to showwhat it should look like and displayed a pro-posed crown to repair the damage. Becausemost people don't have perfect teeth, thecomputer also projected where the newcrown might grind with upper teeth. "Wecan widen, shorten or lengthen the proposedcrown, depending on the needs and anatomyof the patient," Dr George said. Edgar madechanges to the image and sent a completedmodel of the crown to a computer- con-trolled carving machine. It cut the crown out

of a small block of porce-lain in 7 to 10 minutes.Elizabeth said she only

had to be numbed once andeven watched the carvingmachine make her crownwhile she waited. "The nextday there was no numb-ness, and I was back to nor-mal ," she said. "You can'teven tell there's a crown, itmatches my tooth so well.""This is a quantum leap

in dentistry," Dr Georgesaid. "You can get a rootcanal and have the perma-nent crown put in all in the

same day. In Sunny Isles Dental we do notsatisfy with anything but the best. Providingwhat’s best for our patients drove our deci-sion of implementing this technology. Mostimportantly we are metal free, mercury freedental practice. Silver fillings, also knownas dental amalgam, actually contain moremercury than silver, sparking concerns overpossible emissions of mercury vapor. We chose to not expose patients, staff,

family and ourselves to a potential, andcompletely avoidable, safety hazard. Ap-pearance was important too; a tooth-coloredmaterial was far superior aesthetically to ashiny metal filling in the mouth, and our pa-tients naturally preferred that whenever pos-sible. Amalgam filling do not bond to ourteeth, so bacteria can always craw under andcreate a cavity. We are still about to removea silver filling covering a healthy tooth.Today, we still choose the most advanced

dental materials available, to make sure ourpatients receive the full benefit of recentbreakthrough technology. Using roboticequipment enables us to mill an all- porce-lain dental restoration with tremendous pre-cision and safety. If you’d like to replace your dental amal-

gam filling with a more aesthetically pleas-ing ceramic filling we recommend CERECrobotic fillings over other procedures be-cause they’re more durable and because theprocedure can be done in one visit.
