Auxergen Products
Auxcitri Citrus Canker Killer (Xanthamonas citri) Auxergen Rice Blight Solution (Xanthamonas oryzae) RC-RNases (American Bullfrog)
Auxcitri Citrus Canker Killer
Citrus Canker (Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri) Bacterium causes lesions on the leaves,
stems, and fruit of citrus trees, including lime, oranges, and grapefruit
Results in the premature dropping of the fruit and product which is unappealing for sale
Widespread effects (entire Florida citrus crop under quarantine) 69.5 million trees, 532,000+ acres, diminishing yields
Eradication methods suboptimal: copper-based bactericides cause other problems (growth of mite populations)
Auxcitri Citrus Canker Killer
Cf-Canker Bacteriophage Auxcitri infects the canker bacteria,
modifies it’s nucleoid resulting in the destruction (lysis) of the bacteria
Can be sprayed on the trees, fruit, leaves, etc.
If it fails to find X. citri bacteria, it dies and decomposes (in hours)
Repeated treatments over a few years should be enough to effectively eradicate the infection
Auxergen Rice Blight Solution
Xanthomonas oryzae, bacterial rice blight disease
Can destroy up to 80 percent of a crop Prevalent in Asia (extremely so in south Asia, but
also North America, Africa and Australia In Japan, annual losses estimated between
22,000 and 110,000 tons In the Philippines, susceptible varieties lose up
to 22.5% of the total harvest during wet seasons and up to 7.2% in the dry season. In resistant crops, these numbers are, respectively, 9.5% and 1.8%
Auxergen Rice Blight Solution
Using similar bacteriophage engineering of bacteriophages
To kill and prevent the spread of Xanthomonas oryzae
Could have enormous impact on rice yields, reducing prices and hunger
