These clothes are designed for active exercise right down to the tiniest detail. Waterproof, breathable material and waterproof taped seams, together with snow locks, guarantee that these sporting events can continue uninterrupted.

There are now new additions to our Reima Play Layers® range with even more mid-layer options than before, in a wide range of materials. The mid-layers have press buttons enabling them to be easily attached to the outer layer. Getting dressed is easy and the mid-layers can easily be swapped when the weather changes.

COmFOrtABLe BASe LAYerWhen you’re preparing for active exercise it’s best to start with the base layer. Technical underwear that wicks moisture away from the skin is the best choice when the weather gets chillier. The moisture that forms with exercise is transported along the fibres away from the skin rather than soaking in and cooling the child down. Wool is a good choice if your child gets cold easily as it keeps the heat in even when wet.

WArminG miD-LAYerChoose a mid-layer to suit the weather, thinner in the autumn and thicker in the winter. There’s a wide range of materials to choose from. Thin microfleece is good for active exercise, while fleece and thin wool keep kids warm in ordinary outdoor activities. Long pile fleece adds extra warmth in freezing temperatures. Light, smooth-surfaced quilted fabric makes dressing the littlest ones child’s play, especially when it’s already attached to a cover layer with Reima Play Layers® press buttons. 

PrOteCtiVe COVer LAYerThe task of the outermost layer is to keep the weather out. Proper outdoor clothing provides protection from wind, water and dirt. In early autumn you need outdoor clothing without padding, e.g. a waterproof soft shell jacket, mid-season overalls or a mid-season jacket and trousers. When the temperature plummets, a padded outer layer protects kids from chilly winds and keeps them warm.

This jacket has snow locks, elastic inner cuffs, a smart card pocket, a mesh pocket for snow goggles and an inside breast pocket with headphone channel. The trousers have an adjustable waistband, flexible, adjustable and removable suspenders and a back warmer. Snow locks and zippers at leg ends.

In Reima clothing it’s fine to play in the snow. Our furry winter hats keep heads warm when the temperature plunges downwards. And Reimatec® hats keep the rain out as well as the cold. Our caps have ear flaps to keep out the wind.

Reimatec® gloves and mittens are waterproof, as there is a breathable waterproof membrane between the lining and the outer layer. Babies’ mittens have a long zipper to make them easier to put on. This means they aren’t recommended for splashing in puddles.

Our range also includes a wide selection of neck warmers. Popular materials are soft, warm fleece and smooth cotton-lined, thin and warming wool knit.

Reimatec® footwear has a membrane between the upper and the lining that efficiently keeps the wet out. The water stays on the outside of the boot, preventing soggy socks. In cold weather, the membrane is even more useful as damp feet soon get cold. This means it’s also important to choose the right kind of base layer.
