We are so thankful to be missionaries of CEF® of Ireland and especially for the support of the leadership and our friends back there– it is hard to believe

that we have now been serving internationally, from USA, for over fi ve years. Time fl ies! One thing is for sure, we could not survive without God’s help and the prayerful support we receive. Thank you!

As you will see from our report on International Conference, His work is going forward and we are amazed at all He is doing. Diffi culties come in different places, sometimes when we least expect, yet it is so evident that the cause of the Gospel goes forward for His Glory.

Thank you for praying for us as a family. Luke (19) is beginning his second year at college (US speak for university) – he lives around 350 miles from us. Anna (17) is in her fi nal year of home schooling and needs God’s direction for the future. She really enjoyed the Summer Outreach Training Course and the super hospitality at Seaview this summer! Evan (6) is the least Irish of us and has made some good friends recently, which is a real answer to prayer. Wendy is a homeschool mom, hostess for those passing through headquarters and assistant soccer coach for Evan’s team (no laughing please!).

Thank you for prayer for all of us. You are a blessing.

We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;

Unity was one of the blessings Wendy and

I experienced during a wonderful International Conference. The Psalmist reminds us of the source of all the blessing - God commands the blessing. All good things come from Him and as we recount below some of what happened at the Conference, the Glory is all His.

1,007 people attended from 74 countries. There was a real international fl avour – even our main Bible speaker was from Northern Ireland! (Dr. Stafford Carson). The event began by highlighting the number of countries opened to CEF ministry since the last International Conference in 2008. It was amazing to see the 34 fl ags parade in, one by one, as we gave thanks to God for these newly opened ministries. One example is the country of Djibouti, East Africa. This country is not

welcoming to the Gospel, yet we praise God that two nationals have been trained, and are now active in the ministry. CEF is now ministering in 176 countries worldwide with 32 still to be opened.

There was a great emphasis on prayer: the regional directors opened the conference by praying in their own language; each morning there was prayer with nearly 500 participants; people prayed in small groups for each region after the regional director gave his report – what a wonderful experience to be in a room with hundreds of believers from all over the world, praying in their own languages. We thank God for commanding the blessing.

The Lord really helped as we presented once again our burden to see children of every nation hearing the Gospel, by God’s grace coming to salvation and walking in relationship with the Lord Jesus – that His Glory would be over all the

earth.

We prayed for months in advance of the International Conference that God would work in our hearts as we met.  We now want to thank Him for answered prayer and ask for lasting fruit in the lives and ministries of all those attending.

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! ……….. for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore. Psalm 133

This summer we had an amazing Dublin teen camp! The Lord was there in the

midst and not only challenged the teens but He challenged the leaders too. One teenager said “This has been the best camp ever!” One of the teens saidto a male leader, “You’ve been like a dad to me this week.” During the camp there were tears as some of the teens called out to God for forgiveness for not living their lives right before Him. At the end of camp there were tears as everyone said goodbye, some not wanting to leave.

“God’s presence is so real here” said one leader during the week. Others commented on the unity and the freedom as God’s presence was so evident. A week later a leader sent a text to say “Missing camp, the people, the kids, the teaching, the laughing.” Another texted to say that “Lives have been changed at camp for all eternity, and one of those is mine.” We have so much to praise God for!

When I came to training week I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t know anyone else going but that didn’t matter at all! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Each day we had several classes in which we learned:

How to teach a Bible lesson; How to lead a song; How to be a Godly leader as well as lots of other things.

During our free time we walked down to the beautiful beach in

Rossnowlagh and enjoyed the odd swim and lots of fellowship together.

My favourite class however was Christian living which on a personal level really challenged me about my own relationship with God.

We were given assignments each day which really called for a deep searching within me. I really want to know and follow Jesus not just know about Him and I really want to serve Him and fi nd out what He wants me to do.

The leaders were really helpful as they shared openly and honestly about their experiences of God working in their lives which really encouraged me!

In all, it was an amazing week - I learnt a lot and was also really encouraged. I thank God for CEF and the difference it has made in my life. I started going to camp as a nine year old. I’m now 19 and I still love it!

This was my third year helping out at children’s clubs in North East London and another year brought an even bigger team with 20 young people from Northern Ireland and one young person from London joining us.

Each day the main team spilt into 5 smaller teams of about 4/5 people. We were also joined by CEF workers in London depending on the area where we were holding the clubs. The main areas were in the London boroughs of Waltham Forest, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Haringey. Places included in these boroughs were Walthamstow, Chingford and Tottenham.

This year we went out knowing that the city had experienced some troubles but we knew that we were going out, not in mere human strength, but with the strength of God.

Every day, each team headed out and did three clubs held in either estates or parks. I was in two parks and one estate. At the fi rst club there was a young girl who was such a blessing to have in the club and the questions she asked were deep and amazing to hear from a girl so young. The second club was in an estate and God blessed the club with sending children who

had never heard the Gospel before. It was amazing to teach them and each day see their knowledge grow. The third club was mainly children who attended the local Good News Club and our team’s main prayer was that the knowledge they learned would go from their head to their heart!

This was an amazing week and each year being able to see how God is continuously working in London is a blessing. I thank God that He has given me the privilege, these past three years, to see His work in the capital city!

”“It was an amazing week”

“I learnt a lot”“The leaders were really helpful”

Nicola from Kilkenny says...

I would highly recommend the Summer Outreach Training Course to anyone - what a great experience.

Last summer I started to dream about the idea of

having a Christian Youth In Action® team working out from our own area here in Bandon, Co Cork. I was sharing a report at the annual CEF meeting in Ballymena in October 2010 and I shared my dream. To our delight, later in the year, another worker in the North, started thinking of coming down to help.

My dream was to have 10 – 12 locals on the Team and approximately the same from the North and almost run this as a young adults’ camp with

teaching for the team in the morning, followed by preparation time, an early lunch and then head out for clubs in the afternoon and back for a late dinner in the evening with a report and prayer time to fi nish off the day.

Praise the Lord this “dream” was fulfi lled in June, though not as I had dreamed! Colin Hylands brought us a team of 18 young adults from the North, and 2 guys from Bandon joined the Team, with a few dropping in for some of the Clubs and evening prayer times.

The week was a challenge and blessing all rolled into one. We had four teams - 1 team in Bandon with 3 clubs and 3 teams in Carrigaline with 3 clubs each. Some clubs went well and others were non-starters causing us to search out a few new venues. Twelve clubs were held on

both Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. Numbers ranged from 3 in some clubs to 40 plus in another. The beautiful thing was that two girls trusted in the Lord.

Now the big question is “How can we organise Good News Clubs® for some of these children?” How can we maintain this week of summer outreach?

Me and my dreams!! But the Lord proved faithful and the week was a real blessing to kids and Team alike. We are now looking to Him to see what’s next.

In CEF we are constantly seeking ways and means

of communicating the Gospel to children and especially to “unreached” children.

We aim to launch a new project, entitled “Church to Children”, around Easter 2012. We see this as a way of helping local churches to reach more children with the life changing Good News of the Gospel. Please come and hear more about the project at the CEF Annual Meeting:
