PTA Update
First of all the school would like to thank the PTA for
fundihg the installation of the all-weather surface under
the adventure trail in front of the forest area. It is great
that we can now use this throughout the whole year.
At this year's Christmas Fair (Friday, 4th December) we
will be having 'Santa's Workshop' - a Christmas shop for
the children to buy Christmas presents for their family
and our 'elves' will wrap them for them ready to put under
the Christmas tree.
All the presents will cost £1 each and we are hoping to get
most of the gifts from donations from yourselves. We're
sure you've all got unwanted gifts (toiletries, candles,
ornaments, books, etc.) at home which would make
perfect gifts for the children to buy so please can you all
have look at home and if you have anything please bring it
into school. There will be a box in school reception where
you can leave donations or just pass them onto Sallie
Ehlen or one of the class reps in the playground. We will
be having gifts for Mums, Dads, Grand-parents, siblings and even pets so we will be able to use almost
anything you don't want (new gifts only).
For the raffle this year we are hoping each class will be able to source TWO main raffle prizes, things like
restaurant vouchers, hair/beauty vouchers, tickets for attractions etc. so please if any of you think you
could help with this and know anyone you think might help us out please let Sallie know.
We are currently updating the list of helpers for the night to man the stalls and to help set up in the
afternoon. Please can you let Sallie or your class rep know if you're able to help and when.
Thanks - The PTA

Harvest Appeal 2015
This week the JAM (Jesus and Me) group led the Harvest appeal
worship focusing on the story of the poor widow who gave all she had.
We collected the Christian Aid envelopes in and the total counted
came to £223. Thank you all for your generosity in helping refugees all
around the world.
Punctuality for the start of the school day
We have noticed over the past few weeks that a large number of children are regularly arriving at school
after the whistle has been blown in the playground. I would like to draw parent’s attention to the following
paragraph from our attendance policy.
School starts at 8.50am. Children arriving after that time must come into school via the main entrance and
parents must sign the Late Book stating the reason for lateness. The register is recorded at 8.50am and at
9.20am the register is closed. Children arriving after this time will receive an unauthorised absence.
Persistent unauthorised absences may result in the Local Authority issuing a Fixed Penalty Notice.
As a school we wish to be a little flexible around this so will not be enforcing the signing of the late book
for children arriving between 8:50am and 9am, but we will be marking the register with a lateness code.
Children arriving late MUST be brought to the school office by a parent – not sent in alone.
Lessons start promptly in the morning and lateness causes disruption to the teaching of all children and
isn’t conducive to a good start to the working day.
Thank you for your support in this.
Pilgrim Day
Year 5 attended the Pilgrim Day at Chester cathedral this week accompanied by Mr Wallace and Mrs
Rowe. AS always it was lovely to have Mrs Rowe back with us and she really enjoyed spending time with the
Year 5 children again.

Safari Park
Last week the Wrens and Robins classes had a
great day out Knowsley Safari Park. Some
pictures below.
Bag2School Collection Look out for the blue Bag2School sacks which
will be given out to the children next week. Fill
them with your unwanted clothes, shoes, bags
and soft toys and bring them back into school on
the collection day of Thursday 5th November. It’s
a great way to have a ‘sort out’ and raise money
for school.
Diary dates for the next 2 weeks:

• Thursday 22 October – Stephen leading worship
• Thursday 22 October – Choir club ON
