In 1952, a young woman came to the throne of a rapidly changing Empire. 60 years later the same woman sits on the throne and this year the nationcelebrates her reign. But how much has the world changed in the last 60years? Motorways have come to speed us on our way, man has landed on themoon, dictators have risen and fallen, the map of the world has changedirreversibly and a pound is now worth 100 pence not 240! Like all areas,Falkirk has changed and is continuing to do so. The technologies that we liveand work with, what we wear, how we play and how we view the world haschanged dramatically from 60 years ago. We couldn’t capture all thesechanges but hopefully what we have on display here will bring back somememories and maybe even a few giggles.
