The Paint Booth.com EZ Modified Downdraft Booth intakes fresh air from the cleaner upper levels of the shop through a filter bank located in the booth ceiling near the product doors. The filtered air is drawn down through the booth to an exhaust filter system at the other end. This booth is equipped with a pre-filter plenum for additional intake air filtration.The basic modified downdraft design allows for easy pressurization with the addition of an intake fan or a heated air make up unit.

The clean, filtered air is drawn through the booth and exhausted through an exhaust chamber at the opposite end. This type of spray booth makes efficient use of shop space, and is available in solid back, drive through and reverse flow designs. Reverse flow booths intake air through filters in the back wall. The solid-faced product access doors are at the exhaust end of the booth. This provides cleaner intake filtering and better control of shop dust that might be tracked in at the vehicle entrance.

The Limited Finishing Prep Station draws fresh air from the cleaner upper levels of the shop through a pressurization fan. This air is forced down into the prep station through a filter bank located in the ceiling near the entry. The air is drawn through the prep station work area into a filtered exhaust plenum at the opposite end and exhausted out to the atmosphere through the exhaust fan and stack. This design allows for easy addition of a heated air makeup unit. Panels, assembly hardware, filters, and sealants needed for mechanical installation are included. The threaded rod for suspending the intake plenum is not supplied. Goff’s™ Curtain walls, intake and exhaust stack, control panel, and other electrical components may be purchased separately.

CONSTRUCTION FEATURES AND QUALITY STANDARDSThe Hanging Intake Plenum and Exhaust Plenum Wall will be fabricated with 18-gauge galvanized steel panels; flanged for strength and pre-punched for easy nut and bolt assembly. The intake plenum may be suspended with a maximum of 10’ tall clearance or as low as 7’ tall clearance. The actual installed height is required to order the Goff’s™ curtain walls.

Intake air is supplied by one (1) 18” diameter tubeaxial fan with a 1-1/2 HP, three-phase motor. Exhaust is provided by one (1) 18” diameter tubeaxial fan with a 1-1/2 HP, three-phase motor.

Air flows in through the filtered double entry doors in the front of the booth, passes through the booth’s working area, and into the filtered exhaust chamber located in the rear of the booth. This filtered exhaust air is drawn through the exhaust plenum and discharged upward into the atmosphere through the exhaust stack. The dry arrestor filters trap the airborne overspray particles before the filtered air is discharged through the exhaust system and into the atmosphere. The chambers are available in a wide range of designs to meet practically any production requirement. Air replacement units and intake chambers can be added as well as reduced airflows for automatic spray operations.

CONSTRUCTIONFEATURESANDQUALITYSTANDARDS

Chambers are constructed from 18-gauge, prime quality, galvanized steel. Structural steel is used to add strength and rigidity to chambers as necessary. Control panel is optional, fire control systems are to be supplied by others.

Air flow is drawn in through the open front, across the work area and exhausted through a filter bank in the back of the booth. The dry arrestor filters trap the airborne overspray particles before the filtered air is discharged through the exhaust system and into the atmosphere. The booths are available in a wide range of designs to meet practically any production requirement. Conveyor pass-through openings can be as much as 25% of the booth open front area, without requiring additional exhaust fan capacity. Specially engineered enclosures may be designed to meet your requirements. Air replacement units and intake chambers can be added as well as reduced air flows for automatic spray operations.

These floor model booths make efficient use ofshop space and are designed for batch powdercoating with no provisions for powder reclamation.

Air is drawn in through the open front of the spraybooth, passes through the booth’s working areainto the filtered exhaust plenum. The air is filteredin three stages and discharged back into the room.One set of filters will be provided with each booth.

LIGHTING FEATURESBright full booth illumination is provided byfour-tube, Class I, Division II, 48" long, 32-wattfluorescent light fixtures placed in the ceilingpanels. All fixtures are UL listed and approvedfor their intended use and placement. The lighttubes are not included with the fixtures.

PANELS Panels are fabricated from 18-gauge prime quality galvanized steel, flanged and precisionpunched on 6" centers for maximum rigidity.Panels are fastened together with 5/16" grade 5 bolts and are to be sealed with the providedcaulk following assembly.

ILLUMINATION Lighting is provided by Class I Division II, 48" long, fluorescent, 32 Watt, T-8 type fixtures(four-tube), mounted behind safety glass; appropriately sealed from the interior of thespray booth. All fixtures are UL listed andapproved for their intended use and placement.

PURGE CONTROLThis feature assures the safe operation of thecoatings enclosure, by maintaining the airflowat design levels. During operation overspraypowder accumulates on the cartridge filters. As the cartridge filters load, airflow decreasesand negative pressure rises within the air handler. A timer activates a system of air purging valves that clear the cartridge filters of accumulated powder to ensure maximum filter life.
