T 9 EQUIPMENT SET CONFIGURATION

T 9.1 CONTACTOR AND CONTROL CIRCUITS The modular experimentation panel system contains the various buttons, contactors, indicator lights etc, and can be sensibly extended by Electrical machines (T10). The apparatus forms the basis for the subsequent SPC training. T 9.2 LIMIT SWITCHES AND PROXIMITY SWITCHES With the sensors basic apparatus, consisting of limit switches and proximity switches the basics of sensor technology are able to be taught as part of automation engineering in an easily understood way. T 9.3.1 S7-300 PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROL Completely configured basic sets with S7-300 controllers. Various supplementary software packages are available for programming. T 9.3.2 PLC APPLICATIONS Table-top or PC simulation application models for exercises and reinforcement of programming techniques. T 9.3.3 PROFIBUS-DP The Profibus is designed primarily for the interconnection of intelligent modules, e.g. the frequency converter motor. Supplementary components allow T 9.3.1 basic sets to be expanded into networked automation systems using the Profibus-DP. T 9.3.4 SENSOR TECHNOLOGY Sets from the fields of instrumentation and control technology intended for connection to the automation technology. T 9.3.5 AS-INTERFACE The actuator/sensor interface is an economical option for linking simple modules, such as sensors and actuators (switching functions). Sensors and actuators can be connected to the controller using an unshielded, two-conductor line. T 9.3.6 CONTROL RELAIS Simple control functions can be set up quickly and easily using control relays or logic modules. T 9.3.7 HMI SYSTEMS Human Machine Interface Systems are addition available. T 9.4 MODULAR MECHATRONIK SYSTEM The new modular concept offers you ideal options for the activity-orientated training of mechatronic.

Practical training in control technology The new apparatus appropriate for practical applications allows the cost-ef-ficient setting up of basic control engineering circuits as well as the free de-sign of larger projects.

Simple control circuits have up to the present day been economically realised by means of contactor circuits. However, even complex SPC controls can-not operate without external protection mechanisms such as button locks or contactor locks.

The modular experimentation panel system “T 9.1 Contactor and control cir-cuits” contains the various buttons, contactors, indicator lights etc, and can be sensibly extended by Electrical machines (T10) and the “T 9.2 Limit swit-ches and proximity switches” apparatus. The setting up of control circuits and power circuits is possible without difficulty. All connections are made via 4 mm safety leads without risk of contact. The comprehensive accompanying literature contains a teacher part and a student practise part. It covers eve-rything from the method of functioning of the individual components to the realisation of complex machine circuits and expert circuits. The T 9.1 appara-tus forms the basis for the subsequent PLC training.

Complex processes clearly presentedWhen the Profi-CASSY is combined with CBS 9 software models, the result is a universal equipment simulator. This hardware/software combination is connected on one side, via PROFIBUS or directly with a flat cable, to the PLC and, on the other side, via USB to a PC. This gives the PC access to 16 digital and 2 analog inputs and outputs.

Process simulations are available for the most diverse equipment. These simulators are easily installed on the PC.

Profi-CASSY makes the equipment‘s actuators and sensors accessible to an external, real controller. Operating elements on the simulated equipment can be activated with the PC‘s mouse or keyboard.

Simulations have three different modes:

In demo-mode, the process runs autonomously on the monitor screen where it can be observed and studied without stress.

In manual mode, the equipment can be tested step-by-step. All actuators can be activated per mouse click and their effects on the equipment can be observed.

In external mode, a real PLC takes over control of the equipment. PLC outputs are connected to Profi-CASSY inputs, and thereby the equipment‘s actuators. PLC inputs are connected to Profi-CASSY outputs, which allows acquisition of all of the equipment simulator‘s sensor signals.

From the fundamentals of stored program controllers to a complex networked systemThe simple introduction to the complex world of automation technology is child‘s play with the practical COM3LAB multimedia course „Bus and Auto-mation Technology“ (700 31). This course conveys program logic controller (PLC) fundamentals through its extensive examples and exercises. Building on these fundamentals, the networking of controllers, including sensors and actuators, is treated with the PROFIBUS approach. The knowledge gained in this course is the basis for dealing with real industry devices. These prepared training components are realistic representations of quite complex mecha-tronic systems which include, for example, PROFIBUS (used here with fre-quency converter and squirrel-cage motor), actuator/sensor interface (AS-i) right on up to building services control technology with EIB.

Simply AS-i Interface Instead of Cable ConfusionThe actuator/sensor interface (AS-i) requires only one unshielded two-wire conductor to connect all of your actuators and sensors with the controller. The system is concise and, thanks to insulation-displacement technology, easy to assemble. In conjunction with an existing S7-300 set, an actuator/sensor system can be built up with the AS-i Communications Module as mas-ter and AS-i Connection Module 2E/2A and AS-i Set as slaves.

Training with optimum practical relevance! - The modular concept of mechatronic trainingTeach through activity orientation the entire spectrum of automation engineering and mechatronics.

Using the mechatronic modules of LD Didactic you enter into a system. The modules can both be used individually and in combination. Depending on the combination, a new sensible production sequence is formed. Particularly interesting is the option to use the systems as modular kit to construct an entire system step by step. The robust modules are composed of tried and tested industrial components.

Special trainer documentation leads you through the activity-orientated projects.

The new modular concept offers you ideal options for the activity-orienta-ted training of mechatronic. Now suitable functional component groups are available for the most important technologies used in automation enginee-ring. Each of these small easily understood function components can be ope-rated individually or in combination with other component groups. The first component group forms the foundation for an extendable mechatronic sys-tem. You enlarge your system step by step. You can use your own variations or copy our suggestions. This helps you to keep within your budget and will give you nearly limitless combination options. Didactic project documenta-tion will support you optimally with all exercises – as usual in the top LD Didactic quality.

Future-orientated mechatronic trainingIn addition to the modular concept this system offers future-orientated tech-nologies such as the interconnection of the stations via PROFIBUS. By means of the universal Profi-CASSY© interface each mechatronic station can be connected via the PROFIBUS to an SPC or the COM3LAB course “Automati-on and bus technology”.

The course “Bus and automation technology” (70031) teaches the basics of stored program controls (PLC) and shows their interconnection including sensors and actors via the PROFIBUS. With many examples, explanations, exercises and practical tasks the basis and functioning of the PLC and the PROFIBUS are demonstrated in an easily understood way. The compact and complex hardware for this course allows you practice-relevant teaching of the subject matter. The option to connect further external Profibus compo-nents offers you a comprehensive means to demonstrated the processes in bus technology and automation engineering truthfully and without undue effort and expense.

The “Plug & Play” principleEach of the function component groups is complete and mounted on its own baseplate. All relays and valves are mounted “on board”. For the operation of the component group, you only require connection to an PLC and a com-pressed air supply. The connection to the PLC is provided quickly and easily via a 10-pole ribbon cable.
