    Homework for the week is to look through chapter 2

    Problems are on page 2-56 do all 3

    On the Command line type: startup then 1 then ENTER close autocad.

    Next time it is open the screen will be different select new and inches do this form now on

    On the ribbon next to the erase button is the explode button use it to make things like rectangles have

    each side a different part

    Felet makes round corners

    Click the button then right click background click radius and press 1 to have a chamfer of 1 inch radius

    then right click again and select multiple so that the button does not have to be selected between corners

    Right click trim keeps the corners and has the chamfor

    Chamfer and felit work about same way

    Fielet comand can be used to make 2 lines join just set radius to 0

    Object snap button helps put lines at intersections cornes ect, ets on the bottom tool bar

    Construction tool has several useful right click options like angle and horzontal

    Print then plot has several options like printing the display or window

    Homework

    HW: Problems 1 - 3 (page 2-56, 2-57).

    Bisect button divides an angle in half

    Divide button divides a line up but has to change the line snap settings before its helpful

    Today create different layers

    If building a house use a different layer for everything plumbing electrical ect

    There are also different types of lines like thick thin center dotted

    Layers

    Never use layer 0

    When drawing center lines and they dont look right change the line type scale by typing "lts" L T S and

    changing the number, usually lower

    3 standard views front top right side

    6 total views

    Front view usually has fewest hidden lines

    4 commonly used lines

    Visible or object line (thick .5-.6)Hiden lines (even das .3 )

    Center lines (uneven dash .3)

    Usually start with front view and object lines sometimes top view

    Center lines cannot be drawn between views

    Start new document with imperial units

    Set up lines as follow:

    Turn on the object snap toolbar

    Tools>toolbars>AutoCAD>Object snap

    Draw> Construction lines> right click horizontal

    Make new construction line right click vertical then finish outline of major parts of object left pic outlines, right front of object

    Object tracking helps align to. Select line tool then hover over useful corner and slowly move away

    To make 45 degree line use construction line again then right click> angle type 45 and select corner of

    front face
