FUND OVERVIEWCricket Australia, in partnership with State and Territory Cricket Associations and the Australian Cricketers’ Association, is committed to developing high quality facilities that provide a welcoming environment for all players, officials, volunteers and fans.

The Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund (ACIF) provides funding for community cricket facility projects, with a focus on growing participation and promoting accessibility and inclusivity.

The ACIF will contribute more than $5.6 million per annum into community facility projects, representing Cricket’s largest ever commitment to infrastructure funding.

The ACIF is open to all clubs, associations, schools, councils and cricket facility managers, acknowledging the important role that these partners play in providing facilities for community cricket across Australia.

For the first time, the Australian Cricketers’ Association will contribute to facility development via the Grassroots Cricket Fund.

GRASSROOTS CRICKET FUNDAustralian cricketers love playing cricket. They are also passionate about giving back to the game that has given them so much. That is why they have provided $30 million of their own money to support grassroots cricket through the establishment of the Grassroots Cricket Fund.

This fund will support initiatives that strengthen grassroots cricket across Australia and ensure that cricket clubs remain the lifeblood of their local communities.

The Grassroots Cricket Fund is making a vital contribution to the ACIF, starting with $1 million towards playing field and practice facility projects across Australia during the 2018/19 season.

The Australian Cricketers’ Association and Cricket Australia will work in partnership to deliver this funding to strengthen grassroots cricket in this country over coming years.

OBJECTIVESThe objectives of the ACIF are to:• Improve the quantity, quality, innovation and consistency of cricket infrastructure across all levels

of community cricket• Support the development of community cricket facilities that contribute to the delivery of Australian

Cricket’s strategic priorities• Support cricket facility development in areas of demand, particularly areas of significant participation and

population growth• Create inclusive and accessible environments for cricket participants and the broader community• Collaborate with all levels of government and funding partners to invest in strategic infrastructure priorities

FUNDING CATEGORIESThe ACIF provides funding in the following two categories:

1. Australian Cricket reserves the right to propose an amended funding amount based on the proposed outcomes of the project and available funding2. Projects seeking less than the maximum grant amount will be highly regarded

Applications for more than $50,000 will be considered on a case-by-case basis under the Strategic Cricket Infrastructure Funding category. In addition to aligning to the funding conditions below, projects under this category will generally be multi-faceted and provide a broad regional benefit for cricket.

WHAT WILL/WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR FUNDINGThe ACIF focuses on infrastructure that is vital to growing participation in cricket and providing participants with a quality, safe and welcoming environment.

The table below provides an overview of the types of projects that will and will not be considered for funding:

Practice facilities

Change facilities (players and umpires) Pavilions and clubrooms

Amenities that support participation Lighting

The following are NOT considered for funding

Projects that have already commenced construction

Sporting equipment eg. temporary nets, stumps, covers

Routine maintenance works and/or maintenance equipment eg. rollers, mowers

Temporary facilities eg. temporary shade, temporary storage

Projects do not focus primarily on community cricket

Projects where works can be covered by insurance

Facilities that have been previously funded (unless delivering a new facility component)

Facilities with no/limited public access

FUNDING CONDITIONSProjects submitted to the ACIF must meet the following conditions.

Applications must relate to permanent facility development or upgrade projects. Equipment, temporary facilities and/or planning projects are not eligible for funding.

Retrospective proposals will not be supported (i.e. projects that have commenced).Projects submitted by clubs/organisations with the following will be highly regarded and prioritised:

HOW TO APPLYApplications to the ACIF must be submitted to your relevant State or Territory Cricket Association via an online application form. Your State and Territory Association will announce when the ACIF is open for applications in your local area and can assist in developing projects and completing the application form.

The level of documentation expected to be provided with your application varies for minor and major funding categories. The minimum documentation in addition to the completed application form is:

• Minor category – cost estimate/quote, photos of the existing facility, consent from the local council/land manager

• Major category – plans/design documentation, cost estimates/quotes, photos of the existing facility, letters of support, confirmation of funding sources, consent from the local council/land manager
