It’s important that acknowledgement of aviation achievements are not just limited to flying courses. Obviously local broadcasting of these accomplishments will generate interest in flying training within your local ranks.

SOLO DONE! – LCDT JACOB LAYTON

STANDING UP 300 AVIATION SQUADRON As many of you would be aware, all Wings within the AAFC recently underwent a mandatory re-structure. This change has now been successfully implemented in 3WG and business is generally as per usual. Some important points to note are mainly related to contacts and positions that are now non-existent or have changed. 300 Aviation Squadron (300SQN) is now formed as the command, administration, planning and logistics of all 3 Wing aviation matters. 301 Aviation Training Flight (301FLT) remains intact under the command of 300SQN as a pure flight training unit holding aircrew only, simply 300SQN can task 301FLT for a time, place and location to execute flight training for 3WG

The portfolio of the Senior Aviation Officer (SAO) and the 3WG Headquarters aviation team is now absorbed by 300SQN. I will remain Senior Aviation Officer for a short period to manage final transitional aspects on behalf of the Officer Commanding, after that the SAO3WG email alias will divert to CO300SQN.
