nbn rollout update for Lakes Entrance

Residents and business owners in the Lakes Entrance community in parts of Lakes Entrance, Kalimna, Lake Bunga and Metung are now able to connect to the nbn™ access network by contacting their preferred phone or internet provider

Wholesale download speeds of 50Mbps, and upload speeds up to 20Mbps currently available.

100Mbps down, 40Mbps will be introduced late in 2018.

Getting connected

• The switch to an nbn™ powered plan is not automatic;

• Contact your preferred retail service provider to discuss your requirements;

• Select the most appropriate plan for your business needs.

• It’s a good idea to switch to the nbn™ access network well before your disconnection date to allow time for your order to be processed, and for installation, if applicable.

• It’s important for your device provider to understand the compatibility of your existing devices with the new network;

• Your provider can help minimise a break in service as your area is switched to the nbn™ access network.

Choose the right speed


nbn offers a choice of fast wholesale speed tiers to phone and internet providers, who then turn these into different nbn™ powered plans that you can purchase.

Talk to your phone and internet provider about what wholesale speed tiers are available for your business premises and choose a speed tier that suits your business needs.


Power outages and the nbnTM broadband access network

• Devices connected to the nbn™ access network will not work during a power outage.

• Consider having an alternative form of communication handy, such as a charged mobile phone.

• If you have a safety critical device, speak to your device provider or service provider about alternative solutions.

• Electronic equipment connected to the nbn™ access network may need its own separate battery backup to work in a power outage system (such as a UPS).
