The client engaged SHAPE because we had completed a number of projects at the same site and had extensive knowledge of the facility’s infrastructure, operation and security systems. SHAPE also assisted as a buildability consultant during the design phase and actively assisted in the development of the design. NEW BUILD To create the space that the client required, SHAPE had to convert the redundant Australia Post truck maintenance workshop into a sorting area. This space was transformed with construction of a new 3,500 square metre portal frame warehouse to operate the loading dock area, where all parcels are delivered to the Sydney Gateway Facility. This involved a sucken dock which accommodated three trucks and two on ground loading docks. As part of this, SHAPE also had to construct a new 2,000 square metre hardstand that extended beyond the portal structure and enabled the transfer of the new warehouse level with the existing hardstand levels. SAFETY FIRST SHAPE had a strong focus on maintaining safety at all times. We completed a detailed mapping of the site for both Australia Post and SHAPE workers. SHAPE also installed water barriers to high traffic areas and traffic lights on the driveway of the facility when we had to reduce the driveway to one lane to complete necessary works. SHAPE achieved the programme whilst ensuring the client’s day-to-day operations were maintained at all times, without compromising their security, and with secure hoardings for a safe access route for staff and customers. This space was transformed with construction of a new 3,500 square metre portal frame warehouse to operate the loading dock area, where all parcels are delivered to the Sydney Gateway Facility. As part of this, SHAPE also had to construct a new 2,000 square metre hardstand that extended beyond the portal structure and enabled the transfer of the new warehouse level with the existing hardstand levels.

SAFETY FIRSTSHAPE had a strong focus on maintaining safety at all times. We completed a detailed mapping of the site for both Australia Post and SHAPE workers.
