•  Are  you  older  than  50?  •  Do  you  have  a  father,  brother  or  son  who  was  diagnosed  with  prostate  cancer  before  they  were  65?  

•  Do  you  eat  a  lot  of  red  meat  or  high-­‐fat  dairy  products?  

•  Are  you  overweight?

Prostate  Cancer  Risk  Reduc-on  •  Eat  plenty  of  fruits,  vegetables  and  whole  grains  •  Limit  your  intake  of  red  meat  (beef,  pork  or  lamb),  especially  high  

fat  or  processed  meats  like  deli  meat,  hot  dogs  and  bacon  •  Get  to  and  stay  at  a  healthy  weight  •  Be  physically  ac-ve  •  Get  sufficient  vitamin  D  -­‐  The  American  Cancer  Society  states  that  

recent  studies  found  that  men  with  high  levels  of  vitamin  D  seem  to  have  a  lower  risk  of  developing  more  lethal  forms  of  prostate  cancer  

•  Avoid  smoking  and  limit  alcohol  intake  •  Stay  current  on  annual  examina-ons  and  talk  to  your  doctor  about  

your  personal  risk
