Description304/304L is a cost-effective and versatile austenitic stainless steel. 304L is a low carbon version of 304 with a 0.030% maximum C content. 304 offers slightly higher mechanical properties than 304L. It is common for the material to be dual certified when both the lower Carbon content of 304L and the higher mechanical properties of 304 are met.
