Tipos de grãos
Amiláceos: a principal reserva é o amido, como arroz, trigo e várias outras
gramíneas.
Aleuro-amiláceos: acumulam amido e proteínas. Ex: feijão, ervilha e leguminosas
em geral.
Oleaginosos: predominam lipídeos, como em mamona, dendê, amendoim e
girassol.
Aleuro-oleaginosos: caracterizam-se por armazenar lipídeos e proteínas, como a
soja e o algodão.
Córneos: apresentam reservas celulósicas como em algumas palmeiras e no
café.
