Community Service:
Polly Corvaia reported that she spoke with a representa-tive from the Pagoda to check with them after the Wine and Cheese party. They are looking for volunteers to paint three benches, the railing, and the entry gate. Pol-ly suggested working two week nights, Monday and Tuesday, either September 12

th or 19
th and 20
th.
The Reading 120 bike race will be on September 10

The club is looking to choose a location for members to meet to view and support the race. Communications Committee:
Jon Durand reported that the Facebook posts are doing well. He asked that members please share the posts so they get more exposure. Social Committee:
Bill Buchanan reported that he has been contacted by six brewers and seven chili cookers for the picnic com-petition. They are looking to get an ice cream truck. The picnic is on August 20
th at Cacoosing Meadows
Park. Caroline Hill reported that the kickball event went well. They had two teams of ten people. They are looking to have another bike ride to Ma-nayunk. Reminder that Brad and Deb Seaman are hosting a golf tournament on July 23
rd.
New Business:
The club offers it's condolences to former club president Roy Bieber and his family. His wife, also a long time club member, Peri Bieber, passed away recently from cancer.
Larry Drogo suggested holding a CPR certification class for race directors and frequent race volunteers. The cost is $30 per person for ten people for the three hour class. It was also discussed in relation to the AED that is being donated on our behalf by the Reading Hospital. Beth Auman gave a reminder that the Reading Hospital Road Run is October 16
th. The club is supporting the
race in exchange for an AED. Jon Durand announced that he recently received an amateur radio license. He suggested that this could be utilized at a race such as Blues Cruise where the race director needs to communicate with distant aid stations and cell service is spotty. Karen Rule announced that there will be a beer mile race on August 13
th at 5:30 PM to support the IM Able
foundation. Todd Witkowski announced that Exeter School District is looking an assistant Junior High cross country coach for this upcoming season.

The READING 120 CLASSIC
OF THE AMERICAS bike race
is on September 10th and
we want you to cheer the
cyclists on as they climb
Duryea Drive from City Park
to the Pagoda THREE TIMES.
The 120 mile race gets to
City Park for the climbs at
approximately 1:00-2:20pm.
City Park is a good place to leave the car, enjoy the festivities and
run, hike or trail ride on the mountain between the switchbacks of
the race course.
Let’s show the world PAGODA PACER PRIDE! Wear your club gear
or better yet wear a costume. Cyclists
need the motivation and event organizers
LOVE the silliness. Got cowbells, noise-
makers and bright signs? Bring those too;
louder and brighter is better.
Make a day out of this international bike
race in our city and let them know we
want this race in Reading every year. All
race day events and times can be found
on their website: Reading120.com.
