FIREFX is a manufacturer of premium, award winning, professional grade, media systems for custom integrators.

Why Install Media Servers
1. Video Quality: Blu-ray™ has a capacity of 40 Mb per second, Amazon® is around 12,
Netflix® around 7. This compression will degrade video quality. FIREFX is capable of bit-for-bit
playback so you lose none of the picture quality. This is especially important, as video is
upsampled to 4K for most of today’s TVs.
2. Sound Quality: Dolby Atmos™, DTS X™, Dolby TrueHD™, and DTS-HD™ are all
available on local video copies. None are available via streaming services. Your projects have
amazing speakers and AV receivers—make the most of them.
3. Choice: Of the top 20 movies of 2014 (as rated by IMDB), only three are available on
streaming Netflix, but all 20 are available in either DVD or Blu-ray and can be imported to your
FIREFX media system.
4. Performance: No spinning wheels of death or sluggish navigation. FIREFX offers Instant
chapter jumps and lightening fast navigation.

Why Install FIREFX - Integrator
Benefit To The Integrator:
At a very affordable point of entry, you can now easily deliver an outstanding experience while
leveraging existing or new media storage hardware and control systems installed in your client’s
home. Gone are the "clunky" user interface and frequent buggy system reboots and service calls to
repair unreliable media players based on outdated technology. FIREFX also has very nice profit
margins!

Why Install FIREFX - End User
Benefit To The End User:
The end user will feel like they have a whole new media system as they interact with their media
library using the sleek new look and feel at unprecedented speeds. It will accelerate the
homeowner’s digital life by delivering a lightning fast media experience and seamless navigation
using control system they already own and love.

FIREFX Product Line Features 1
• Modular System: Build the custom system your customer needs a-la-carte. Select your storage
format and size, player format, and even add a media import device if desired. Upgrades are
backward compatible (i.e. upgrading to a 4K player in the future does not require replacing the
storage device, just the player)
• Flexible Media Sources: Download media from an on-line store, import media with the FIREFX
RIMP, or import your digital media with an existing platform or software you already own. As long
as the media is not DRM protected, our system will probably play it.
• Large RAID Protected Storage: Our massive HUB storage devices are all protected by a
Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID). FIREFX HUB can survive a disk failure and
continue to operate normally until that disk is replaced.

FIREFX Product Line Features 2
• Desktop And/Or Rack Mount: Rack mount your R-Series HUB, PLAYs, and RIMP for HDMI
matrix operation or use our D-Series with Ethernet drops in each room. Mix and match FIREFX
components as needed (i.e. you can add a D-Series PLAY to an R-Series system to add
coverage in a room that has a CAT5/6 drop but not an HDMI matrix drop.
• Stream Media To Portable Devices: Stream digitized media from your HUB to your smart
phones, tablets, PCs, and other streaming devices via network or Internet connection.
• Support For All Major Control Systems: TCP/IP drivers for SAVANT, RTI, Control 4, Elan g!,
Crestron, etc. Supports IR control via MCE remote with USB IR receiver.
• Automated Setup: Patent pending automated setup. All of our devices automatically find the
HUB on the network and self-configure, mounting media shares and saving configurations on
the HUB.

Installation Notes
• Patent Pending Automated Setup: Install the HUB first. After it is fully booted up and you have
set the IP address to a static address with either DHCP reservation or static assignment, add the
PLAYs and RIMP one at a time. As they are introduced to the network, they will automatically
find and mount the HUB, storing their configurations on a centralized database on the HUB.
• TCP/IP Control Out Of The Box: Assign static addresses to your PLAYs via DHCP reservation
or on the PLAY itself and assign a profile from your control system of choice.
• Dedicated VLAN Not Required (But Recommended): FIREFX is not very sensitive to network
traffic and does not require a dedicated VLAN but best practice is to always separate your media
system traffic when possible.
• UPS Protection: Always use UPS protected power with the HUB. UPS protection is not vital for
players, but it is best practice to protect these as well when possible.
• HUB Shutdown: Never shut the HUB down from the power switch. Always use the web
interface to stop and then shut down the HUB.

Media Sources
• ITunes Library Import: Third party software available for purchase to import/convert and entire
ITunes video library to the HUB. Links to software available on FIREFX Dealer Forum.
• Optical Disk Import: RIMP (Rackmount IMPort System) is a headless optical media import
system that can import Blu-Ray, DVD, and Music CDs after third party license activated.
• Existing Library: A users existing library can be added to our HUB by dragging and dropping
files to our Movie or TV Show network folders. Most video formats are supported for
unencrypted media. File naming convention guides are in our Installer’s Guide available from
our FIREFX Dealer Forum.
• On Line Movie Store: Third party software pre-configured on the HUB for on-line store access
of over 100,000 titles. Once a third party license is activated, media is downloaded automatically
from a wish list generated by your customer. TV shows are subscribed to, automatically
downloading episodes as they air with no commercials.

Frequently Asked Questions 1
• Is FIREFX A Content Provider? No, FIREFX designs and builds Media Systems. The content
is all provided by end user’s private libraries or third party services or imported through third
party software that must be licensed by the end user.
• What Is The Pricing Structure? Contact us at [email protected] to request your dealer application
to get access to our wholesale pricing and dealer site.
• I Already Have A System, Can I Add A 4K PLAY To It Or Do I Need To Replace The Whole
System? Our 4K PLAYs are backward compatible with equipment in the field. The TCP/IP
control profile is also consistent so you could plug and play a 4K in the place of an existing 1080
PLAY as long as it has the same IP address.
• What Is The Difference Between Your Marine Systems And Standard Systems? Our
Marine Media Systems are designed to run with limited or no Internet access and offer music
through the TV for individual staterooms. Our standard systems assume normal Internet access
and offer our protected music storage accessible by third party media players.

Frequently Asked Questions 2
• My Customer Has A NAS With Movies, Will FIREFX Support This? Yes with a caveat. The
media must be unencrypted and in a format playable by FIREFX Media Systems. Also, the file
structure and naming conventions may need to be altered to get proper metadata population.
• What Is The Minimum Number Of Components Required To Deploy A FIREFX Media
System? A fully-fledged FIREFX system requires at least 1 D/RPLAY and 1 D/RHUB. With
these components, a user will be able to download and store media from the online store and
play it on a screen (or screens with an HDMI matrix). To add optical media import, you would
need to add the RIMP. Most importantly the RIMP, DPLAY, and RPLAY will not work without the
HUB as it hosts the centralized database and media renaming software required for operation.
• What About The UPLAY? The UPLAY or Universal Player is designed to be used exclusively
with media from USB or third party storage devices. It requires manual setup and configuration
and as it hosts its own mini database, is not as robust as our fully-fledged system. It excels as a
portable demo system when paired with a small USB drive but does not allow the use of the
RIMP optical disk import system or online store.
