Weekend Worship Theme: Sharing the Changeless Christ in a Changing World Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today, and forever. Our God does not change. He always loves us, always shows mercy to us, and always welcomes us into His presence now and forever, because of what Jesus has done for us. In Pastor Woodfin’s message today, we hear what God says about being an evangelist for Christ in a world which has never been open and friendly to the Gospel.

School Opening Service In the 11:00 service we officially open the school year for our students, and rededicate our dedicated faculty for service in God’s Kingdom. Please join your brothers and sisters in Christ at the school following the service for our annual Back to School Barbecue. All are welcome!

Voters Call Rev. Dr. Mike Iannelli as Senior Pastor In the Voters Meeting last Sunday, August 20th, the church unanimously called Rev. Dr. Mike Iannelli, currently serving as sole pastor at Our Savior Lutheran Church in St. Charles, Missouri. Please keep him in your prayers as he seeks God’s guidance in determining whether to accept or return the call to Our Shepherd. On September 23rd, we will assemble “Action Packs” to be sent to Christians in countries such as Sudan, Pakistan, Lebanon, Nigeria, and Iraq who are suffering for their faith in Christ. Here’s how you can help:

Donate new or “gently used” items to go into the Action Packs. Clothing for adults and children: lightweight (windbreaker) jack-ets, sweaters, gloves, knit hats, and t-shirts (plain, no print). Blan-kets, bed sheets, towels, bar soap, and nerf balls. Please provide all items by September 9th. All donated items are tax deductible.

Serve as a “bargain shopper” to find these items at reduced prices. You will be reimbursed for the cost of the items.

Donate funds. Please make out checks to Our Shepherd and write “VOM Action Packs” on the memo line. Designate cash gifts to “VOM Action Packs.” All donations are tax deductible.

Provide a greeting card. Christians in countries where persecu-tion occurs love to receive greeting cards from the U.S. Use draw-ings (heart, cross, empty tomb, drawings of people) rather than writing. These will not be translated.

Please drop off items, in the drop-box located to the left of the bookstore by September 9th. Thank you for helping bring the love and support of Christ to those who need it so badly!
