Highlights from July
The results are in from our 3rd Annual Talk Stroll and Roll fundraiser.
We raised just over $10,000 for the aphasia programs!
Funds will be used to support our aphasia programs, our aphasia training
sessions, caregiver support groups, and providing financial assistance to clients
in need.

Peel Stroke Group – 10 years strong
What is it?
A community-based support, social and information group for stroke surivors and caregivers- who are young or young at heart, to help make the road to recovery a little easier and making a difference in quality of life. Why should I come?
Meet and talk with other stroke survivors with similar experiences and share information about post stroke concerns. We also have special guest speakers. Date: First Tuesday of the month

Two representatives from Home and Community Care (formerly CCAC), will present on Long Term Care and will be available to answer your questions.

A recreational and relaxing three-day retreat at Geneva Park located on beautiful Lake Couchiching for stroke survivors and their caregivers. Sessions will include: Outdoor activities such as: Canoeing, fishing & swimming. Caregiver sessions, crafts, and much more! Cost covers all meals, accommodations and materials. *Please note transportation is not included* Early Bird Special: Register by July 30th for $300 per person. After July 30th for $350 per person. Stroke & Aphasia Programs in the Community Comprehensive Aphasia Program
Return to Your Life
The intensive Comprehensive Aphasia Program in Waterloo Ontario is now accepting clients for
fall 2019!
This program is intended for individuals who have had a stroke or brain injury and want to
regain functional life skills and communication. Individualized goals are targeted by an
interdisciplinary team of professionals including a Speech-Language Pathologist, Social Worker,
Occupational Therapist, Behaviour Analyst, and a Registered Behaviour Technician. Individual
and group treatment options available.
