    The month of August was quite when it comes to current affairs relatedto NDA and CDSE exam pattern, We could have added a lot of othercurrent affair stuff but that would not have been good from the point ofview of CDSE exam and NDA exam. This document is useful only forpreparation of CDSE 2 2015 and NDA 2 2015 exam.

    1 Indo-UK Bilateral Air Exercise Indradhanushends

    A group of Indian Air Force personnel successfully completed an India-UKair and ground exercise on July 31, that saw Indian Sukhoi Su-30s pittedagainst their Royal Air Force counterparts flying Eurofighter Typhoon.

    The fourth edition of the Indo-UK bilateral air exercise named Indrad-hanush was held in the UK from 21-31 July 2015. The 190-strong con-tingent of the IAF left India on 15 July 2015 for the overseas deploymentand returned on 04 August 2015. The air elements that took part in theair exercise this time were the Su-30 MKI, IL-78 tankers, C-17 and C-130Jtransport aircraft from the IAF and the Eurofighter Typhoon, the Voyagertanker, C-17 and C-130J from the RAF. In addition to the aircraft, theIndian Garud commandos participated alongside their British counterparts,the RAF Regiment of the Special Forces.

    2 1974 Land Border Agreement between Indiaand Bangladesh

    1. The IndiaBangladesh enclaves, were the enclaves along the BangladeshIndiaborder, in Bangladesh and the Indian states of West Bengal, Tripura,Assam and Meghalaya. Within the main body of Bangladesh were 102

    enclaves of Indian territory, which in turn contained 21 Bangladeshicounter-enclaves, one of which contained an Indian counter-counter-enclave the worlds only third-order enclave.

    2. Within the Indian mainland were 71 Bangladeshi enclaves, contain-ing 3 Indian counter-enclaves. A joint census in 2010 found 51,549people residing in these enclaves: 37,334 in Indian enclaves withinBangladesh and 14,215 in Bangladeshi enclaves within India.[2]

    3. The prime ministers of India and Bangladesh signed the Land Bound-ary Agreement in 1974 to exchange enclaves and simplify their in-ternational border. A revised version of the agreement was adoptedby the two countries on 7 May 2015, when the Parliament of Indiapassed the 100th Amendment to the Indian Constitution.

    4. Under this agreement, which was ratified on 6 June 2015, India re-ceived 51 Bangladeshi enclaves (covering 7,110 acres (2,880 ha)) inthe Indian mainland, while Bangladesh received 111 Indian enclaves(covering 17,160 acres (6,940 ha)) in the Bangladeshi mainland. Thecounter-enclaves, together with Dahagram-Angarpota, will not be ex-changed when the Indira-Mujib agreement of 1974 is finally imple-mented.

    5. The enclave residents are to be allowed to either reside at their presentlocation or move to the country of their choice. The physical ex-change of enclaves will be implemented in phases between 31 July2015 and 30 June 2016. The enclaves stand exchanged on the mid-night of 31 July 2015 and the transfer of enclave residents is expectedto be completed by 30 November 2015. After the Land Bound-ary Agreement, India lost around 40 km squaren (10,000 acres) toBangladesh.

    4 Saina Nehwal 1st Indian to win silver medalat World Badminton Championship:

    Saina lost the BWF World Badminton Championships final 16-21, 19-21to Carolina Marin of Spain here on Sunday (August 16). Despite stumblingat the final hurdle, 25-year-old Saina created history by giving India its firstever silver medal in World Championships. The previous 4 were all bronze.

    5 Ranil Wickremesinghe becomes Prime Min-ister of Sri Lanka

    1. Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe was sworn in as the Prime Minister ofSri Lanka for the fourth time on 21st August 2015.

    2. He is the Leader of the United National Party (UNP), Sri Lankaslargest political party, which is a constituent member of the NationalUnity Government led by H.E. the President Maithripala Sirisena.

    3. Hon. Wickremesinghe was first appointed as the Prime Minister from1993 - 1994 after the assassination of President Ranasinghe Pre-madasa. He was also elected as the Prime Minister from 2001 -2004 when the United National Front Government won the generalelections in 2001.

    6 National Sports Day celebrated on 29 Au-gust

    1. National Sports Day in India is celebrated on the August 29.

    2. This day marks the birthday of Dhyan Chand,the hockey player whowon gold medals for India in year 1928,1932 and 1936.

    3. This day is celebrated by organizing friendly matches between differ-ent Indian hockey teams at the Dhyan Chand National stadium inNew Delhi which was constructed in the respect and honor of DhyanChand

    7 Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award for SaniaMirza
