G reetings in Christ. God has

been doing some truly

amazing things at BFC HQ, we

had a very exciting month. We’d

like to thank all of you for your

love, prayers, encouragement and

support.

T he 2014 Hollister Independ-

ence Day Rally was back

this year with a vengeance! On

Thursday, July 3rd the bikers be-

gan rolling in and it totally

rocked!

At the historic Johnny’s Bar on

Thursday – the BFC Full Throttle

Band was tearing it up with our mix

of classic rock, metal, and blues.

People were dancing and be-bopping

all over the place. The FT Band

dedicated a song to the legendary

“Booze Fighters M/C”. The Booze

Fighters have been a part of Hollis-

ter’s unique history since 1946!

The FT Band also called Johnny’s

owner Charisse over to the stage,

and dedicated “Johnny B. Goode” to

her. The band rocked from after-

noon to evening. And I shared the

Gospel.

The next morning local churches had

pancake breakfasts, and people were

riding all over the area. A large par-

ty was happening at Corbins Seat

Factory. They invited lots of ven-

dors, and American Biker legend

“Sonny Barger” who was there sign-

ing DVD’s of his new movie, based

on his book “Dead in Five Heart-

beats”. We enjoyed getting some

love and pics with Sonny and Mike

Corbin. Then we were drooling as

we saw Mike’s new Indian Chieftan

w/custom Corbin seats and a Tour

Pack.

We caught some of the other bands

live, and many of them were “really

good”… It was an honor to share

the stage with them.

On Friday Night, July 4th the BFC

Full Throttle Band had the amazing

pleasure of headlining at a Main

Stage at 4th and San Benito St. –

downtown! Chris and his wife Heidi

rode all the way from Oklahoma!

CD from QT joined us on lead vo-

cals, and Brother Dan blew a mean

blues harp. The crowd really en-

joyed the band – and some were

dancing and bopping to the tunes.

We ripped through our songs – and I

shared about our faith and God’s

plan for mankind. People were actu-

ally listening. It was awesome.

On Saturday we rode around some

more, and went to check out one of

“Hottest Bands in the place”. “Steel

Horse” is an absolutely amazing

Bon Jovi tribute band. They played

every Bon Jovi favorite and the guys

literally “nailed down” every song

they played.

The FTB had an afternoon show

back at the stage at 4th St. and San

Benito. By this time the town was

totally overflowing with bikers. The

crowd was incredible. CD, Dan,

Jorge from Steel Horse, and even

Lisa, CD’s lady joined us on vocals

on Saturday. The crowd had

swelled to almost 3,000… It was

an incredible gig. From what we

heard later – WE KILLED IT! I

shared that everyone on our stage

rode a Harley, we love America,

and we loved God… And once

again the crowd went ballistic. I

again shared the Gospel at the end

of our concert, and we were able to

pray with some folks who were

touched by the message.

On Sunday we had the pleasure of

sharing music and ministry at Hol-

lister 1st Presbyterian. They are

such gracious hosts – we love you

all! Many of the church families

adopted BFC members for the

weekend. It was so awesome.

Those who shared their hearts and

their homes - became forever

friends with their leather-clad

guests. We were all so thankful to

be part of a great rally weekend

once again. Until next year my

H undreds of bikes rolled in for the 12th Annual

Bike Blessing and DBR (Downed Biker Rally).

It was an amazing event. There was some incredible

gourmet food by “5 Loaves and 2 Fish”, & some real-

ly rocking’ music by: The BFC Full Throttle Band,

the Eric Turner Band, and the Forgiven.

There were a lot of great raffle prizes, and excitement

at this rally for a number of different reasons: The

Rally proceeds went to help the BFC Downed Biker

Fund (a fund set-up to help San Diego riders who

crash on their bikes). The BFC Chaplains are dis-

patched when someone goes down. They visit the

injured bikers in the hospital, pray for them, and then

hand them a check to help with incidentals. Gas for

trips back and forth to the hospital, groceries for the

kids, or whatever else they may need.

Dozens of clubs, independent riders and other friends

rolled into Kennedy’s Custom Cycles. The guest of

honor was Mrs. Cathie Kennedy, wife of Bill Kenne-

dy. Cathie had been struggling with cancer the last

few years. Everyone was so excited that Cathie

would be attending. They all were eager to show their

love and respect to Bill and Cathie. People of all

types had become their friends over the years.

The R’Side Crew, many M/C’s from the San Diego

Confederation of Clubs, NY Myke and Petrina from

San Diego Harley Davidson, and many others friends

stopped by.

I performed a beautiful, humorous yet classy

“Renewal of Wedding Vows” for the couples that

gathered. Bill and Cathie Kennedy once again pro-

claimed their love to each other, and embraced once

again celebrating another year together. Many of the

leather-clad attendees struggled to keep their eyes

from watering up.

The Bike Blessing also was a really spiritual time as

all the riders grabbed the hands of the person next to

each other. I led them in a prayer to God thanking

Him again for their lives, their families, and their biker

brothers and sisters. We also thanked God for the

beautiful creation that He has provided for all of us to

enjoy – as we’ve all seen such amazing scenery as we

enjoy our rides.

The bands continued rockin’ the parking lot, friends

shared some great time together, and again everyone

poured their love into the Kennedy family. The Ken-

nedy ladies: Mom, Cathie, and Carrie were all given

beautiful bouquets, and a special marble plaque was

presented to Bill & Mike Kennedy for their support.

This amazing event ended up being “A Living Memo-

rial” for Cathie - as she died 3 days later. “Personally,

I think that the Lord Jesus Christ used this beautiful

event to prepare Cathie for her trip to Heaven, and He

used it to show all of us the importance of loving oth-

ers while they are with us”.

“Sister Cathie – please same us some prime motorcy-

cle parking behind the pearly gates.“
