The Premier’s Student VolunteeringAwardNow is the time for all Year 9 and Year 10 to get on lineand register all of their volunteering hours. During theexams if you were a reader or writer, get those hourslogged. Did you referee or umpire at the Primary Schools’Gala Day? Get those hours logged. Two students this year have achieved their DiamondAward, 80 hours, 2 have reached the Gold standard, 2 theSilver and 4 the Bronze. Many others have not registered,it is easy and it will look great if you are keen to apply fora job in the future.

So if you are in Years 9 or 10 see Mrs Rouen, Ms Zammitt,Mr Kafartaris, Tim Hiron or Lachlan Arundall to sign youup and get your hours counted.

WelfareThank you to parents who have returned updated medicalinformation to the school. It is very important with thewelfare of your child. A reminder as well that it isimportant for the school to have your latest contactdetails. If yours have changed please have your child pick-up a “change of details form” from the student office.

VaccinationsMonday, 6th August saw both Years 7 and 10 updatingtheir vaccinations. Year 10 had boosters for dTpa whileYear 7 continued their series of vaccinations withVaricella. For Year 10 this was their only requiredvaccination for the year.

The next vaccinations will be held on 19/9/12 with Hep Band HPV vaccinations for Year 7. I am certain that Year 7will feel relieved as this program moves towards the end.

The program is run over 3 terms with thestudents attending the university, participating in forums, listening to motivational forums, participating inworkshops, learning about the practical skills andpractising them in group situations. Even though theprogram is a big commitment, given it is during schoolterms and the students have to catch up on work missed, the students have a lot of fun while they learn, arechallenged and are taken out of their comfort zones. Lastyear’s students commented that it was a fantasticexperience for them and was a great preparation for theirquest towards captaincy.
