VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: NSAA GIRLS GOLFThe NSAA Nebraska Girls Class “B” Golf Tournament will be held October 9 & 10 at Quail Run Golf Course. The organizing committee is seeking volunteers from the community to assist with the two-day tournament.

The Committee is in need of approximately 40 - 50 volunteers each day. If anyone is interested in helping with the tournament please call Deb Loseke at the Columbus/Platte County Convention & Visitors Bureau at 402-564-2769 or Al Niedbalski at 402-564-3258.

Summer Interns Experience Columbus FunThe Drive for Five recently hosted three different social events for interns who were in the area enhancing their skills over the summer. The goal was to connect our visitors to activities and services around Columbus, elevating their experiences in our community, and perhaps motivating them to make this their permanent home after graduation.

The interns reported they’ve had a positive experience living in our city and some of them do wish to pursue job opportunities here in the future.

Through programs like Intern’s Night Out, the Chamber has been able to promote area businesses which will ultimately increase profits for those business owners. We wish the best for our visiting interns and certainly hope they will return when it is time to begin their career.
