“New Beginnings” Good morning and thank you for choosing to worship with our Hillsdale family today. I am writing this brief note to you on Friday morning, as I look back over the week, reflecting on the blessings, as well as the sorrows.

Hillsdale Christian Academy and Preschool is off to a great start, and we are happy to hear the sound of children’s voices in our school once again. Laughter, smiles, giggles, and renewed friendships abounded as HCA opened her doors to a new school year. Yes, there is the extra weight of guidelines for COVID-19; however, the sweet spirit of our staff, the understanding of parents, and students who are just happy to be back in school has made the start of the year a joy. Midweek ministries shifted from the summer schedule to the fall schedule this past Wednesday. Chef Sherman and Chef Bates reopened regular Wednesday night meals with a delicious dinner served from 5:00-6:10 pm, and was followed by the first AWANA Clubs meeting at 6:15 pm. Our Teens midweek Bible Study and Activities (6:00 pm) has made a smooth transition with Pastor Peterman at the helm.

The HBC LifeSteps Classes and Bible Institute commences a new quarter this Wednesday. All adults are invited to the auditorium at 6:15 pm for a brief time of prayer to be followed by a new series of classes. The Henry’s are teaching a family\marriage class for young families. Sheilah Smith is teaching a ladies’ class titled, Ancient Paths, focusing on the Covenants in the Scripture, and I will be leading a Character Bible study in the Book of Proverbs, focusing on a chapter a week for the first eight weeks.
