Navy Day - August 15th
St. Mary , celebrated by Christians on the 15th of August, is for Tulcea as Navy Day, the Feast of the city.
The City Hall , the Prefecture , and the Marina organized a series of events to mark this important moment for all inhabitants of the city ( and county) .
• On the first day , at Heroes Cemetery in Tulcea , will be an official ceremony dedicated to the heroes , on the following schedule :
- welcoming and greeting officials battle flag,
- national anthem , - religious ceremony performed
by a group of priests - prayer and worship for the nation's heroes and Romanian people ,
- speeches of local officials , - wreaths of flowers on graves,- parade of the honor guard .
• The next day, military events will take place during the following schedule :
- Flag raising ceremony, - Review of vessels and crews card
by Garrison Commander Tulcea - Statements by local officials , - Religious ceremony and launch in
water the flower anchor in memory of deceased seamen,
- Arrival and speech of god Neptune ,
- Competition for rowing boats, - Parade of ships belong to the
Navy , the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations , the Border Police,
- Celebrations end with god’s Neptune withdrawal.
• On the last day of the event, children are invited to Civic Square , where they could see a play perform by a local theater
• Tulcea Municipality invites you at the Artisan Fair
