Produktinfo: Diese Prog Rock-Oper entstand in Zusammenarbeit mit den Sängern Ted Leonard (Spock’s Beard) und Nick D’Virgilio (Big Big Train, Spock’s Beard), sowie den Musikern Eric Gillette (drums), Randy George (bass), Bill Hubauer (keys), Matt Smith u.a. Die Idee zur Oper hatte Morse bereits 2008, aber es brauchte 10 Jahre bis zur Vollendung des anspruchsvollen und einzigartigen Projekts, welches 2018 seine Live-Premiere vor begeistertem Publikum feiern durfte. Neal Morse gründete 1992 die Band Spock’s Beard , die mit dem 1995er Debütalbum ’The Light’ trotz des seinerzeit unmodischen Progrock-Sounds weltweit Lob erntete. Nachdem sich Morse um 2000 zum Christentum bekehrt hatte, verließ er Spock’s Beard im Jahre 2002, um u.a. mit seiner Neal Morse Band einen neuen Karriereabschnitt mit religiösem Schwerpunkt zu widmen. Die vorliegende Prog Rock Oper darf man getrost als Höhepunkt seines bisherigen Schaffens betrachten, bei dem er alle seine musikalischen wie auch spirituellen Überzeugungen zum Ausdruck bringen konnte. sowohl Einflüsse anderer Bands als auch den eigenen Stil der Band erkennen kann.

Eklektizismus im Hinblick auf die Musik und Texte sind das Markenzeichen der Band. So haben sich

DREAMSLAVE ihr eigenes Universum erschaffen. ''Rest In Phantasy'' ist ein bisschen wie eine Sammlung

diverser Kurzgeschichten: Jedes Stück steht für sich selbst, ist aber auch Teil des großen Ganzen. Auf dem

Album spiegelt sich so die Suche nach Vielfalt und Harmonie wider.

Inspiration für die Texte von "Masquerade" fand man im Film "Blade" und für "Pirate's Anthem" bei "Der Fluch

der Karibik", während "The Vinland Saga" sich eher auf historische Ereignisse stützt.

"End Of Innocence" und "Eternitears" hingegen sind viel intimere Stücke. "Wishes Of Revenge" kommt mit

fantastischen und orientalischen Inhalten daher. Die beiden Songs "Torments" und "Angel Requiem" sind mit

Mozarts berühmten Stücken "Dies Irae" aus seinem "Requiem" und "Königin der Nacht" aus "Die Zauberflöte"

verknüpft.

Dann macht euch auf die Begegnung mit “Profound Evil Presence” gefasst – der neusten Satansrille der brasilianschen Black Metal-Macht Power from Hell. Von den Onlaught- und Bathory Einflüssen ihrer frühen Tage haben Power from Hell sich inzwischen freigeschwommen und präsentieren sich auf “Profound Evil Presence” sehr viel finsterer und obskurer, sowohl was ihre Themen als auch, natürlich, das Songwriting selbst angeht. Wie schon die beiden Vorgänger beinhaltet auch »Archives Vol.3« abermals eine Vielzahl unveröffentlichter Aufnahmen aus den Untiefen des Riot-Archivs. Der Schwerpunkt liegt hierbei auf der Mark III-Phase in der Besetzung Tony Moore (Gesang), Mark Reale (Gitarre), Don Van Stavern (Bass) sowie Bobby Jarzombek (Schlagzeug).

X-ROMANCE was initially a project starting in 2015 as an offspring to the original band ROMANCE from 1988 founded by Anders "LA" Rönnblom & Thomas Widmark. In the fall of 2015, Anders was going through a box of old tapes and found the old ROMANCE recordings. He called up Thomas and because he thought that these tapes were too good to be put in a box and stored in a closet. In the following time, they went through all the tracks and re-recorded them. Widmark started to look for musicians in the Stockholm area. There were no problems to find guys who wanted be a part of this project; it was rather harder to find the right guys for the job. X-ROMANCE consists of an experienced line-up with musicians with a lot of experience in the music industry who now have come together to deliver this fresh Melodic AOR masterpiece called “Voices From The Past”. The album was recorded and mixed at REFLECTION SOUNDS STUDIO, Stockholm and engineered and produced by Tomas Rosenberg & Thomas Widmark. In “London Clay” gibt sich ein Mann seinen Tagträumen hin, wie er doch mit seiner unerwiderten Liebe zusammen könnte, aber nicht mal in seinen Träumen läuft das wie gewünscht. In „Lucan“ geht es darum, ob Gott Fischfutter ist oder in Libreville/Afrika lebt, während „Dinosaur“ davon erzählt, dass Mark Zuckerberg von einem Meteor getroffen wird. Der Titelsong ist ein bezaubernder, nachdenklicher Walzer, während das hinreißende „Broken Wing“ – vielleicht die herausragende Nummer des Albums – von einem jungen Mann erzählt, der in einer religiösen Sekte aufwächst. In dem Song finden die Musiker einen Groove und zeigen ihr instrumentales Können.

groovy und tanzbar. Kaum zu glauben, das Produzent und Multiinstrumentalist KD - ein auf zahlreichen Studioproduktion und

Tourneen gern gesehener Musiker - in dieser Band ausgerechnet das Instrument spielt, welches er bis dato überhaupt nicht spielen

konnte. Auch das ein Statement! Perfektion ist anders. Hier geht es um Kreativität und musikalischen Wahnsinn.

Das Album ist aber auch ein Spielplatz für die tiefgründigen, intelligenten und persönlichen Texte von Sänger und Bassist Dirk

Verschure. Als etablierter Comic-Künstler versteht er es sonst eher, mit Wenig viel zu sagen.

Als Sänger nutzt er andere Möglichkeiten und positioniert sich klar. Auf „I Am Not A Ghost“ ist jemand unzufrieden und beschwert sich.

Die Texte sind persönlich und nachdenklich. Hier macht sich jemand Gedanken, spielt mit Worten und Ideen und schafft es immer

wieder, alles kurz und prägnant auf den Punkt zu bringen und verliert nie seinen durchaus kruden Humor.

DEAD KITTENS sind gewachsen und erwachsen.

Musikalisch, textlich, wie auch das „Gesamt-Kunstwerk“, alles hat an Tiefe und Kontrasten gewonnen.

Dune Sea is a power trio from Trondheim, Norway whose debut record calls to mind the likes of

Hawkwind, Kyuss, early Tame Impala and Queens of the Stone Age.

Produktinfo: Dune Sea was formed in 2012 as a solo venture by guitarist Ole Nogva but didn’t see the light of day until a full band lineup congealed

in 2017.

The group must have been using their time wisely, because their debut full-length is a foolproof piece of space rock, updating the

sound pioneered by Hawkwind and Monster Magnet with their own twists.

Dune Sea’s opening bars already establish the record’s sound: warm production filled with fuzzy guitars, swirling synths and tight

drumming.

Alongside the obvious Space Ritual references, Dune Sea also brings to mind the sounds of early 35007 and even shoegazers

like Loop and Spacemen 3, while Nogva’s guitar work sways between Kyuss-like stoner riffs and Thee Oh Sees-style garage psych

rock.

In short: Dune Sea is a veritable cosmic melting pot of rock not to be missed.
