Audience research results

The results here show that Male is my most represented gender audience for my music magazine. This is important information because it means I know which gender to target for.

Most of my audience are in their late teens from 17-18 year olds. This is useful because I know what content to put in the magazine that will meet the necessary desires for that age group.

Most of my audience said there would prefer my music magazine to have more context in them music of the artist rather than the news of the music industry. This is vital information that I now know I will need to express in my magazine.

The audience want the double page spread to be about the story of the artist rather than the lyrics of the songs.

The audience research showed that they would mostly prefer one main image of the artist on the cover page of the magazine. These are the main conventions that the audience denotates with because this is what they always see on hip hop magazines.

As taking into account the audience would prefer lots of colour on the magazine page. Which is effective feedback I’ll take into account because the magazine needs to be popular with the main target audience.

The final result for my magazine name came down to “MVA” which was the popular result of name choices for my music magazine. “MVA” means Music Vibe Audio.

Most of my audience show a view of having images rather than texts on a music magazine page with the percentages being 80%. This shows me that images are required more in music magazines rather than text.

The results of this research on my audience shows that they would rather have a solo artist as the main on a cover page rather than a group. This is because it is more simpler for the audience to focus on one person rather than people in a group which is useful information I had learnt from this result.

The results here show that “big Joe” was the most favourable name for my artists in my music magazine which is also tied with “RP Flex”. Although I decided to go with the name “Grizzy”.

My view point on my audience results is that people are more interested in the generic conventions of hip hop.

This can be seen in question 4 about the double page spread they want information on the story of the artists rather than the other information.

The main gender is shown as male so I am going to try and shape my magazine to the results of the questionnaire so that it meets my audiences needs.
