AWAITING CONFORMATION
FOR CAPS
A little more on one the charity’s we are supporting on the night;
Wiltshire Air Ambulance is a registered charity who rely almost entirely on public donations to continue flying and
do not receive any central government funding. We can be anywhere in Wiltshire within 11 minutes, including a two
minute scramble. We attend, on average, 3 potentially life-saving missions a day. The speed of our helicopter, along
with the skill of our crew, can make the difference between life and death.
The Other Charity we are supporting;
The Mary Hare Foundation raises funds to support Mary Hare School for deaf children. Since it was established in
1991, the Foundation has raised over £7.5 million for the development of the facilities at Mary Hare School.
Mary Hare School is a non-maintained special school for deaf children and young people from all over the UK. It
teaches the young people (aged 5 - 19 years) using an auditory oral approach, through an emphasis on written and
spoken English.
The School is the only one of its kind in the UK and the biggest non-maintained special school in the country. The
school receives fees from Local Authorities and the government to enable it to teach and care for the young people
attending. However, new developments and the maintenance of the facilities depend on fundraising and donations.
