Twitter onAugust 13.“Kudos to the team,” the
Minister said, with twothumbs-up emojis. The devel-opers of the appwere also fea-tured on the Government ofIndia’s 74 years, 74 series cam-paign, which gave it fillip andreach.Amonthafter its launch, the app is being used by 3,000teachers, a vast majority ofwhom are in J&K, and who arenowable to reach thousandsofstudents even over restrictednetwork speeds.“Ihavebeenaneducator for
thepasteightyears inKashmir.During all these years I have
worked directlywith students, schools, local NGOs and thegovernment’s education de-partment. A significant part ofthis time has been spent inclassrooms teaching mathe-matics and chemistry to highschool students,” Masudi toldThe IndianExpress.Once the Covid-19 lock-
downwas imposed, all educa-tional institutions were forced
to move online. As a result,“every teacher, including me,faced an uphill task”, he said.“While tech-savvy teacherssuch as me were able to findfixes, most of the teachers, andtheir students, suffered.”The challenges were com-
pounded by the low Internetbandwidth (2G) in Kashmir.MasudiandAbidi initiallyfoundworkarounds such as using
