From the Principal
Late last week the school was informed that our Wakakirri performance has been
rewarded with selection to perform in the Brisbane Regional final on 4 September.
This is absolutely fantastic news and a great reward for our outstanding performance.
Congratulations to all involved.
Prep 2019 Enrolments and Information Session
Applications for enrolments to Prep in 2019 are being taken now. Students living
within the Fernvale catchment are automatically accepted but we still need to process
these students. Already 29 Prep students are enrolled. Our predicted number is
approximately 80 plus students so there are still a large number of students yet to
hand in their enrolment forms. Application for Enrolment forms can be downloaded off
the school website or collected from the school office.
Thank you to the parents that attended the first Parent Information Session for new
Prep students last week. A second and final Information Session will be held early
next term.
From the Principal
Year 5 Camps
We wish Ms Van Kempen and Mrs Wallace’s Year 5 students a safe and
educational experience as they leave for their respective camps during the course
of next week and the following week. May I remind students to make sure they
take enough warm clothing for the evening as the nights have been extremely
cold.
School Opinion Survey
Last week parents and Carers were issued with an invitation to complete the
online School Opinion Survey. Thank you to the 14 families that have done so
thus far. I would encourage all families to please complete. The online survey
closes on 24 August.
Bookweek
Over the course of the next week there will be many opportunities for students to
engage in Book Week activities. I look forward to seeing many students involved
in the activities.
Exhibition Holiday
A reminder that we had our Exhibition holiday on Monday. School is as per normal
this Wednesday. Only schools in the Brisbane area have Wednesday off.
Attendance at school this Wednesday for Fernvale SS is expected as per any
other school day.
Kind Regards David

will no regular parade on this day.

excellent!
Under 8’s celebrations

encouraged to attend. You will receive a note home asking you to
RSVP. More information will come home this week.
Bush Dance
o Friday 21 September is our annual ‘Bush Dance’. Students are able
to wear free dress on this day. This year to support our Famers we are
asking children to come dressed as a farmer and to bring a donation to
support the drought appeal. More information to follow.
2019 Prep Interviews

www.schoolinterviews.com.au enter the code tvmes and choose your

Parent Information session. If you missed this informative session it
will be repeated on Thursday 1 November 7-8pm.
I have been so proud of our lovely Prep students. They are working so hard and
are just blossoming! Here are two beautiful boys who are working hard with their
writing. Kobie and Callum are so proud and we are so proud of them!
Have a great week!
