Newcomers Club sponsored gaming event
at either the Parker Library, South Metro
District Firehouses, or any Douglas County
owned facility can be considered gambling.
They have made it clear to us through
written communications that this is not
allowed on their premises.
Therefore, effective immediately any
groups using any of the above-mentioned
facilities must stop using money during their
play.

Summer time has arrived and the warmer weather will be a welcome change. We can look
forward to our flowers blooming, longer days and possibly a sunburn or two. I want to sit in the
sun and bask like a lizard, soak up some vitamin D, slurp a beverage with an umbrella in it and
read a good book. What plans do you have for the summer? Whatever your plans are don’t
forget to wear your sunscreen and take lots of pictures!
For those members who are new to the club, we would like to remind you that this is the last
newsletter until September. Also, there will be no General Meetings/ Luncheons or Out and About
functions until this fall. However, we will still have Coffees, Potluck dinners and the various sub-
clubs will set their own schedules regarding how often they will meet during the next 3 months.
The club membership year is from June 1 to May 31 of the following year. Dues will be payable
on June 1 and should be sent to Gail Berger as per the May newsletter. Gail will be collating
information for the new directories and it is very important that you proof your email addresses,
physical addresses, phone numbers, pictures and anything else you may need to change.
Mistakes or omissions could cause problems.
We will be mailing directories in the fall and if your address is incorrect, your directory can not
be delivered. The directories will be mailed using bulk mail, and it is our understanding that if a
bulk mail item is undeliverable the post office does not return the item or forward the item. The
items are destroyed. So, if you want your directory, please verify your address. Also, we only
print a few extra copies of the directory that are for new members who join during the year. So, if
your directory is lost in the mail, we cannot guarantee a replacement. Additionally, you may have
to pay for the cost of a replacement directory. We are trying to make the process of getting a
directory easier for everyone this year, but we need your help, please.
PNC is still in search of a volunteer to be 3rd Vice President. This office is responsible for the
newsletter. If we can’t fill the office, we may have to stop the newsletter and just use the website.
Please see Marilyn or me if you’d like to give it a go!
We are looking forward to this coming club year with great anticipation. There will be some new
General Meeting/luncheon venues, excellent speakers and entertainment, another outstanding
White Elephant and Gift Basket auction and lots of fun in general. Marilyn and I hope to see you
there!
