CHC Navigation Stand B9 – 10When it comes to collecting information of riverbeds, lakebeds and offshore ocean data as well as other kinds of water conditions, the Apache 5 remotely-operated unmanned boat is a great hydrographic surveying platform to do so. It can operate on a number of water bodies, and can be used with single beam or multi beam echo sounders, acoustic doppler current profilers (ADCP) as well as various other sensors for collecting the required information. The triple -hull vessel weighs less than 10 kg and has a high-sensitivity internal inertial navigation system. Its counter-rotating dual propellers with adjustable speed up to 5 m/s makes it highly flexible for different configurations of sensors. It is also equipped with a high definition wireless video camera.

Rocketmine Stand B15Rocketmine, a South African based subsidiary of the Delta Drone Group, will be showcasing their new drone thermal leak detection solution at AfricaGEO 2018. This solution adds to its other popular solutions, which include survey and mapping, blast monitoring and industrial inspections, to name a few. The need for improved methods of tailings dam inspection is clear from the number of documented disasters that have occurred due to their failings. This year alone there have already been three documented failings in Brazil, Australia and Mexico, the latest of which took place in June 2018. Rocketmine has developed a drone thermal leak detection solution to address issues currently being experienced with inspections of tailings dams. Visit us at stand B15 to find out why this solution it is so important to the mining sector and why it is mandatory to carry out inspections.

Geo Data Design Stand B16GEO Data Design is passionate about providing location-based intelligence solutions to business questions in Africa. Through the fusion of geographical content (from our partners, DigitalGlobe and Airbus) in application platforms we can provide powerful analytical tools to quickly analyse and act upon real-world challenges. One such example is the fire risk management workflow we created and deployed on Hexagon Geospatial’s M.App Enterprise platform. Geo Data Design created a customised algorithm (Prometeo Fire Probability Index) to identify areas with a higher risk of fire by monitoring vegetation biomass and moisture content. Geo Data Design’s presentation at AfricaGEO 2018 will provide an overview of the components of this solution and how it can be utilised in different industries. Come speak to us about how this or other solutions we create could be implemented for you.

Geosense Stand A23 – 24Geosense will be showcasing the advanced mobile mapping technology of the Leica Pegasus: Two Ultimate mobile mapping system. Launched earlier this year, the portable system simultaneously captures panoramic high-resolution imagery and high-density point cloud data from a moving vehicle. With upgraded cameras that produce stitchless 360° imagery, the platform brings true high-quality digital reality capture to customers. The captured 3D geospatial data has several uses across numerous sectors, including road and city mapping and navigation, waterways, emergency response planning, plus street, highways and utilities infrastructure and asset management. Data extraction can be carried out directly in Esri software through Leica’s MapFactory software, meaning stakeholders can start making decisions on the data quicker than before. Coupled with extensive survey experience and processing capabilities, Geosense is receiving a lot of interest for mobile mapping surveys across Southern Africa. Visit stand A23/24 to learn how mobile mapping can help with your planning and decision making.
