Atrium double focus –Sophisticated light for highrooms

The lighting tool for perfectlyglare-free light from the ceilingAtrium double focus down-lights are especially suitable forhigh rooms thanks to their highluminous flux and specific lightdistributions. The lens systemsconsisting of a collimator andSpherolit lens generate narrowdownlight distributions, or as wall-washers create efficient, preciseand highly uniform vertical lightingeven at small distances to the wall.The black anti-glare cone achievesa discreet appearance with allversions, and also minimises theglare for high visual comfort

when looking into the luminaire.Concentrated general lighting isthus created in low rooms. Forrooms with inclined ceilings, arecessed version is available thatcompensates for inclination anglesup to 30°. In-house developed con-trol gear enables uniform operatingbehaviour of luminaire groups anddimming down to 1% – importantfor use as hall lighting in cinemas,theatres and concert auditoriums.

Outstanding uniformityTo meet the stringent standardsof vertical illuminance, ERCO hasdeveloped luminaires specificallyto produce exceptionally uniformlevels of illuminance.

Wallwashing for high roomsMulti-storey spaces pose specificlighting challenges. Previously,wallwashers had to be mountedin very high-ceilinged rooms at adisproportionately great distancefrom the wall; however, the idealposition for the recently developedAtrium double-focus wallwashers isnow at a distance of only one fifthof the height of the room.

Also suitable for sloping ceilingsAs variants with a pivot angle ofup to 30°, double focus downlightscan also be mounted in slopingceilings.

Covered or flush mounting detailAs standard, all recessed lumin-aires have overlapping installationdetails. Flush mounting rings areavailable as accessories.

General lightingFor uniform general lighting, theluminaire spacing (d) between twoAtrium double focus downlightscan be half the height (h) of theluminaire above the working plane(rough guide).

Arrangement: d = h / 2

Application area: rooms with highceilings, e.g. foyers or event halls.

The wall offset should be half theluminaire spacing.

Arrangement: a = d / 2

Lens wallwashersWallwash

WallwashingAtrium double-focus wallwashersenable uniform illumination ofhigh walls. The ideal spacing to thewall (a) is a fifth of the room height(h).

Arrangement: a = 1/5 x h

Application area: positioned closeto the wall, these luminaires areideal for atriums and foyers withroom heights above 6m, but workjust as well in rooms with lowerceilings.

For wallwashing with good anduniform horizontal illuminance,the spacing (d) of double-focuswallwashers may be up to 1.3 timesthe offset from the wall (a).
