Thank you for choosing Atomic Aquatics. Our company is dedicated tocreating and manufacturing only the finest diving products. Atomic Aquaticsintroduced the worlds first and only titanium diving regulators in January of1997. Titanium is lightweight, strong as steel and immune to seawatercorrosion. It is the perfect material for use in the ocean environment and untilnow, no other manufacturer has been willing to take on this exotic, difficultto fabricate material. Our product features go beyond just the materials. We complement the use of titanium with new, innovative design to enhanceperformance, reliability and ease of use. We feel this is the best regulator everproduced anywhere in the world. This regulator should give you a lifetime ofreliable, easy breathing, trouble-free performance with minimal care.

  • This manual covers the Atomic AquaticsTi2 second stage (all Titanium metalliccomponents) and the Bl (chrome platedbrass) or Tl (titanium) first stage. All models are the same with regardto operation and performance.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - Before you use this regulator z

This regulator was assembled, cleaned and tested with componentscompatible for enriched air (to 40% oxygen concentration). It is ready mfor Nitrox use withoutadditional cleaning or service. You must decide 9.if this regulator is to be used with EAN or standard compressed air. If Hyou desire to use EAN, this product should be dedicated for use with ^EAN only and identified as such. See your local EAN supplier for identification kits. IF you use or test this regulator with standard zcompressed air, it may become contaminated with traces of hydrocar- -bons must be re-cleaned before using EAN. b X>

  • COLD WATER USE

For diving in extreme cold waters (below 40F), we recommend havingthe first stage sealed with the installation of the optional anti-freezekit. This is a rubber sleeve that fits over the ambient chamber portsof the first stage to prevent icing of the first stage. This is a factoryor dealer installed item, as it requires some special tools and disassembly of the first stage for filling of the chamber with a speciallow temperature lubricant.

    DIN CONNECTIONS

For use with cylinders having DIN style valves (typically at pressures above3000 psi), a DIN connection is available. It replaces the yoke connection andcan ordered as standard from the factory or as an option installed by the dealer.

Balanced Poppet: Aerodynamic, pneumatically balanced poppet providesenhanced airflow and easy breathing, regardless of tank pressures.

Titanium Valve Spring: This special high-strength titanium alloy is 10 times the costofstainless steel but allows us tomake a spring with fewercoils for interrupted airflow.

Kevlar is a registered trademark of DuPonl.

  • Titanium Valve Body: Performance is always at itspeak because thevital internal -qsliding surfaces will never rust or corrode.

Titanium Lever: Absolute safety and reliability. This crucial part is the mechanicallink to your airsupply. Formed from a proprietary aerospace titanium alloy, this partis immune from stress inducedfatigue orcorrosion. -t]Seat Saving Titanium Orifice: This new orifice design dramatically prolongs the 5Jlife of the rubber seat. Seat wear is the number one cause of regulator leaks and fgperformance degradation over time. Thefirst and only adjustable dynamic orifice rti(patent pending) is pressure energized andonly contacts the rubber seat when theregulator is being used.

Automatic Flow Control (AFC):Just enjoy your diving. No dials to turn or buttonstopush, this regulator automatically tunes itself asyou dive. The first and only depthactivated venturi control that automatically balances performance andstability (patentpending). A computer designed airfoil inside of the mouthpiece changes position withresponse todepth to maintain consistent, natural feeling, effortless breathing at all depths.

Rapid Adjustment Knob: One-turn manual override adjustment with soft gripallows quick de-tuningfor surfentries, octopus use orother special situations.

Elliptical Exhaust Valve: Dramatically reduces exhalation effort at depth. Oversize, highflow valve andairfoil shaped valve support smooths out every exhalation.

  • HosesYour regulator was function tested and is ready for use from the factory. You willneed to install your high pressure gauge, instruments or low pressure accessoriessuch as inflators. If you are in doubt on how to do this, see your AtomicAquatics professional retailer for assistance.

Low Pressure HosesYour regulator has 5 low-pressure (LP) ports on the swivel end of the first stage(thread size 3/8"-24). Choose the ports that give you the best orientation foryour particular set-up. The LP port plugs can be removed by unscrewing with a3/32" (4mm) hex wrench. Install the LP hoses into the port and snug up with awrench. Do not overtighten as this will not improve the seal and may damagethe threads.

High Pressure HosesYour regulator has 2 high pressure ports (marked HP) on either side of the body(thread size 7/16"-20). The HP ports and plugs are larger in size than the LPplugs. Remove the plugs with the same wrench and install the high pressuregauge hose into the high pressure port and snug with a wrench.

  • CAUTIONDo not assemble any low pressure hoses to the HP port of the firststage. The hose could rupture and could cause serious personalinjury. Do not assemble the high pressure gauge to the low pressureport or the gauge will not indicate tank pressure.

  • CAUTIONDOS AND DON TS

Do set up your equipment carefully before each dive and check your entiresystem for signs of damage, loose hoses leaks. Make sure the yoke knob orDIN connection is hand tight before turning your air supply on. Purge theregulator and take a test breath before entering the water.Don't use your regulator if you notice any problems or malfunctions.Return it to the factory or authorized dealer to have it checked or repaired.Don't pick up your tank by the hoses. You may damage them or work loosea connection that could lead to loss of air.

    POST DIVE CARE

A simple fresh water rinse or soak after every dive to clean the regulator of salt, sand or dirt is all that is required. Dry or blow off any water in the first stagedust cap and fit it in place. Rinse through the ambient ports of the first stage(unless fitted with a anti-freeze kit) and through the mouthpiece of the second

  • stage. Rinsing is particularly imporiant with the chrome plated brass first stageto maintain it in top condition and keep the chrome looking attractive. If thesecond stage is purged during the rinse, it is a good idea to re-connect theregulator to a tank and blow out any water that may have gotten inside the firstor second stage. O

Store the regulator out of the sun to prevent fading and deterioration of therubber and plastic parts, away from excessive heat, humidity or insects.

annually for a safety inspection. At this time, they will inspect and check forproper operation, and advise if any service is required. A major service isrequired by your dealer or the factory at intervals of 2 years or 300 dives, whichever comes first. This service will include replacement of all seals, seatsand o-rings.
