BasisIf the component is an option class item, you must indicate whether you want to override the default quantity for the option class when a sales order is entered (the default). Option class quantities affect the mandatory standard components assigned to the option class.

If you select None for the Basis field, Oracle Order Management can override the default quantity for the option class. Order Management defaults the total quantity to release as the component quantity multiplied by the option class extended quantity.

If you select Option class for the Basis field, Order Management cannot override the default quantity for the option class. Order Management calculates the total quantity to release as the component quantity multiplied by the option class extended quantity.

To enable companies with short cycle times to respond quickly to customer orders, users are now able to automatically create supply for all levels of their configuration or ATO structures that are built or purchased in the shipping organization.

Prior to Family Pack I, users needed to run planning to create supply for lower level configurations, even if all levels were being built in the same organization. After Family Pack I, users have the option to create supply in the shipping organization for the toplevel item, all levels of auto-created configurations, or all levels of configurations and ato items. If the profile is set to create supply for all levels, when a user progresses the order line through Create Supply Order Eligible, or runs the auto create FAS batch processes, CTO will create supply for all levels of the configuration or ATO structure in the shipping organization. Each level can have a different type of supply. For example, a discrete job could be created for the top-level configuration and a purchase requisition could be created for a lower level. In this release, the lower level supplies will not be reserved to the sales order.

Supply to Order WorkbenchIn Family Pack I, CTO has introduced the first phase of a self-service workbench thatwill serve as a single source of information for all configured, assemble to order anddrop ship products. Customer service representatives or project managers will be able touse this workbench to view the multi-level configuration structure, and to give customersaccurate order statuses, without having to navigate through multiple forms andresponsibilities.In this phase, the user will be able to access the workbench from an order header or orderline, via the actions button, and will be able to see configuration and supply informationrelated to the ATO order lines. This includes:. Multi-level configuration details: Prior to Family Pack I, only the top-levelconfiguration is visible from Order Management and users needed to go to the billsof material to see the details. This meant that if a lower level configuration was in a nonstandardorganization, the standard cost of the parent would be inaccurate. In FamilyPack I, CTO performs an estimated cost calculation in Average, FIFO and LIFOorganizations based on the rolled up valuation costs of the components. This estimatedcost is then transferred to the standard costing org to be used in the parent standard costroll-up. The estimated cost is also maintained in the Average, FIFO, or LIFOorganization in a newly seeded CTO cost type created for purposes of this estimation.In a purchased environment, CTO now creates an entry in the Buy cost type specified inthe new profile CTO Buy Cost type, based on the rolled up list prices in thatorganization. If the configuration has buy type sourcing rules, this Buy cost type is usedduring the supply chain cost roll-up.Improved Configuration BOM structurePrior to Family Pack I, the configuration BOM was viewed as a pile of parts, and wascreated with no relation to the original model structure. To create a more legible bill ofmaterial, CTO enhanced the creation of the configuration BOM so that the componentson the bill appear in the same sequence in which they did on the models originalindented structure. CTO now also ensures that no sequence numbers are repeated on theconfiguration BOM.
