Atlantis Come to Atlantis, the world famous water resort.
1. Experience our spas. 2. Relax next to our waterfall. 3. Enjoy shopping at the pier shops. 4. Play at the water park. 5. Come see the Casino floor. 6. Visit our aquarium and learn about water and see
the aquatic animals.7. Atlantis is the most fun your family can get on a
vacation!8. Fun for Kids and Adults
Home
Our Spas1. Available to all guests at the Atlantis2. The spas at Atlantis will give you the best
relaxation you have ever felt. 3. Come and experience how warm water can
sooth the body.Fact: Warm water is typically used to relax stressed
nerves. Warm water can also be used to help heal wounds.

Length of Spa Session Price15 minutes $6030 minutes $11560 minutes $215120 minutes $400
The Waterfall1. Come on and try out swimming in our pool
with a waterfall. 2. Dive in our deep water section.3. Watch in amazement how the flow of the
water from the waterfall gently and calmly combine with the water already in the pool. Cohesion allows water to stick to each other. This is why the water from a separate source (the waterfall) can easily mix in with the standing water.
Home
The Pier Shops at Atlantis1. Purchase luxury goods and items from our
pier shop.2. Designer brands such as Apple and Coach
are available3. 5-star restaurants for you to dine in. 4. The Pier shops at Atlantis floats on top of
the ocean surface with minimal support from beams.
5. Fact: Water has a density of 1.0. Salt water’s density is greater than 1.0 which allows more things to float. The Pier Shops at Atlantis has a density lower than 1 therefore floats on the ocean. Home
The Pools at Atlantis1. The pools at the water park won’t get warm until past 2:00PM.
The pools also won’t get cold until past 10:00PM (assuming summer time weather). Water gets heated up by the sun (outdoor pool).
2. However, the sun sets around 8:30, so why does the pool retain the heat well?
3. Fact: Water’s Specific heat is relatively high which means that it takes more energy to change the temperature of the water.
4. Specific heat: the amount of energy needed to raise of temperature of a substance by 1 degree.
5. Water’s specific heat capacity also helps the earth retain its global temperature. This happens in a way that is sort of like the pool.
6. The sidewalk on the other hand gets really hot quickly. Make sure you buy sandals at the Pier Shops.
Home
The Casino1. Gamble on Poker, Blackjack, or roulette.2. Cash in and win the jackpot in the slots3. Order drinks from our bar including margaritas,
tequilas, or our famous lemonade.4. Our drinks are made fresh. Our lemonade is
made by adding lemon juice and sugar to create a delightful solution.
5. Fact: Water is the universal solvent which means it can absorb more solutes than any other liquid. This is why water is a key base in all our Casino drinks.
Home
The Bar at the Casino
Happy Hour: 2-6 PM every day. Get drinks half price if you can tell us the solvent of the drink you are ordering. Since you know that water is the universal solvent, you can make a safe bet that the solvent of your drink is water.Drink PriceUniversal Solvent (bottled water)
$5.00
World Famous Lemonade
$5.00
Margarita $12.00Beer $9.00 (per bottle)
Atlantis Aquarium 1. Explore and learn all about everything
water.2. Meet aquatic animals3. Experiment with unique water properties4. Learn new things on your vacation
Home
Iceberg Section1. See the iceberg section. Notice how part of
the iceberg floats and part of it sinks below the water.
2. Water’s density property is very unusual. The solid version of water known as ice, floats on the liquid version. Water has a density of 1.0 while ice has one of 0.92.
Home
Water tanks1. See fish 2. Swim with dolphins3. Feed the sharks4. See some animals walk on water5. Every animal in the world relies on water to
survive. Fact: Earth can support all this life because
over 70% of the earth is covered by water.Fact: Of the 70% of water on the earth, only 2%
is fresh.Home
The magic water1. This insect can walk on water.2. Why? Water has a “skin like” surface known
as surface tension. 3. Fact: the surface tension of water can be
broken by mixing it with the solute, dishwasher detergent. Another example of water as the universal solvent!
Home
The Lab1. Learn with our tour guides or purchase an
inside quest for learning all about water.2. Learn about Polarity, Hydrogen Bonding,
Capillary Action, Adhesion, and the Water CycleWhat do you want to learn?
How much it costs for the class
3 items (pick your choice of any of the above three)
$60
All five items $100
Home
The Polarity SectionA Brief overview of what you will learn in the
polarity class.1. Watch videos and experiments that explains
how water is polar.2. Polarity: when an atom has a separation in
electrical charges. Water is an example of this because there is a negatively charged side, and another side which is positively charged.
Home
The Hydrogen Bonding Section1. Study the periodic table2. Learn about covalent bonds3. Understand how hydrogen bonds are made4. Hydrogen bonds are the weak connections
made between water molecules.
Home
The Capillary Action section1. This is an experimenting station. Play with
straws and narrow tubes.2. Watch how water naturally climbs up these
narrow tubes3. These are a model of what actually happens
in plants.4. Capillary Action is the ability of water to
climb up the roots of plants and defy gravity
Home
The Adhesion Seminar 1. This is class is a seminar. 2. Learn about Adhesion 3. Adhesion: the ability of water to stick to
other polar surfaces
Home
The Water CycleThis is our most popular class ever. Almost
every one who takes a class chooses to do this one.
Learn all about the water cycle.See the connection between parts of the
cycle, and desalinization. See a visual.
Water Cycle Diagram1) Transpiration
- water evaporating from plants
2) Evaporation- 3) Condensation
- water cooling off into a cloud
4) Precipitation- rain, snow, hail, etc.
Home
Desalinization1. Check out our water plant. Because we are
located right here on the ocean, we can get some water from it.
2. Humans cannot drink salt water. If we do, we would die from thirst or delusions. If you are stranded on an island, it is better to not drink the seawater.
3. Now, we can get some water AND give a show. The Steps1) Evaporate the seawater.2) The water condenses and the cloud is moved over
Home
The Museum Section Learn all sorts of facts about the science
behind water in the museum section of the aquarium.
Purchase cool gadgets and souvenirs to help to remember the good times here.

Hello Everyone, it is Andy Hoang once again with the usual question on "how prepared are you for the test?". First, i like to recap the unit. We learned quite a bit in unit 4 on triangles, but unit 5 gave us additional information on special triangles. Wow! Triangles must be some special shape. When you look around in the world, triangles are dominant in almost every place (except street signs). Now, i have learned quite a lot from this unit. I now can figure out that to get the biggest piece of cake with the frosting borders, i have to get the hypotenuse side. Anyways, what helped you or what will you study to prepare for the test? 1. Classzones (always helpful)
2. Review your notes a couple times 3. Read all the dicussion board posts (they may have some answers to unanswered questions)
So, how prepared are you for the test?
A) A-Day: Prepared like the soldiers for D-Day. Can do it now and breeze by it while still getting a 100.B) Great: I can do it and get a 100
C) B-Day: I still need to get the finishing touches of studying done. I can easily get a 100 D) OK: If i took it now, i might get a C, so i will not. I will instead study tonight and take it tomorrow. I
can probably pass it with at least an 80. E) D-Day: If i took it now, i might get a D. I need some studying to do. The test results may not be as
good as the actually d-day landing for the Allies. F) Unprepared:
