DESCRIPTIONGiven the rapid growth in new treatments for common retinal diseases published within the last two years, there is a need for case presentations that demonstrate the application of clinical trials to clinical practice. This course will provide rapid presentation followed by expert discussion regarding the application of clinical trials to clinical practice.

WHO SHOULD ATTENDThis activity is intended for ophthalmologists, optometrists, and ophthalmic allied health professionals.

OBJECTIVESAfter attending this activity, the learner will demonstrate the ability to:

• Discuss evidence supporting the use of various treatment modalities in patients with diabetic macular edema (DME), proliferative diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusions, and other retinal pathologies.

• Describe the effects of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and other agents and surgical procedures on the progression of these conditions.

• Explain the role of various imaging approaches in the management of these conditions.
