It was a terrific conference, and wonderful opportunity for Brenda and I to reconnect with missionaries from all over the world, many of whom we have not seen for a long time. Because ICOM is always in early November, we’ve seldom been able to attend (maybe only twice in 16 years). One of the couples we had the pleasure of reconnecting with was Chuck & Kathy Foreman. You might remember that Chuck & Kathy were our co-workers for 5 years in Kaohsiung (from 1998-2003), before we moved to Taichung to start a new church plant. In 2006, after near- ly 20 years in Taiwan, Chuck & Kathy accepted the call to First Christian Church, Phoenix, AZ. They have been sorely missed in Taiwan ever since, especially by those they led to Christ and discipled through the Kaohsiung Good News Christian Church. At ICOM, as we ate together, we reminisced about Chuck’s original vision for KGNCC, and how drastically different it looks 8 years later. Is the church still there? Of course. However, many of the original members have gone on to serve in myriad ways in other places. In fact, new faces are the norm for KGNCC. Reflecting on this, we’ve made a few observations which might be helpful for all of us (and especially Brenda and I). One thought that came to mind is from what Jesus said in John 12:24, “Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.” Jesus told his disci- ples that he was leaving, and that the Holy Spirit would fill them and that the disciples would “go and bear fruit - fruit that will last.” (Jn 15:16b) Likewise, as long as the mis- sionary was with the disciples, they stayed together and grew. However, when a missionary says goodbye, he places leadership and trust in those he has discipled. And, who knows what God may do, or where he might send, those who have been raised up. What is important is that they remain faithful to God’s calling for their lives. And so most of the KGNCC brethren have! From the KGNCC roots, churches have been started, pastors have been or- dained, leaders have been sent out and the Gospel has ad- vanced — producing many, many seeds! Likewise, in Taichung, we fully expect to see God do amaz- ing things through the Come Christian Church brethren; things that we could not have envisioned, things that only the Holy Spirit could accomplish through them. We, over 11 years, instilled in them from God’s Word that disciples make more disciples. It is in our DNA to “go and bear fruit - fruit that will last.” How God chooses to use His people to do His will is, well … above our pay grade. We’re ready to be amazed by God’s people, doing God’s will and building God’s Kingdom in Taiwan! Thank you for your partnership in Taiwan! Recently, we had the privilege of participating in the ICOM (International Conference on Missions), in Columbus, OH. It was a terrific conference, and wonderful opportunity for Brenda and I to reconnect with missionaries from all over the world, many of whom we have not seen for a long time. Because ICOM is always in early November, we’ve seldom been able to attend (maybe only twice in 16 years). #One of the couples we had the pleasure of reconnecting with was Chuck & Kathy Foreman. One thought that came to mind is from what Jesus said in John 12:24, “Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.” Jesus told his disci-ples that he was leaving, and that the Holy Spirit would fill them and that the disciples would “go and bear fruit - fruit that will last.” (Jn 15:16b) Likewise, as long as the mis-sionary was with the disciples, they stayed together and grew. Bubbles & More Very popular in Taiwan, it’s called Jun-ju cha, but here it’s called Bubble Tea. The “bub-bles” are actually little tapioca balls, that kind of look like fish eggs. It’s little things like this that remind us of home. “Home” for us is no longer Taiwan, and that’s been the biggest challenge. #

To help with the transition, the Lord has placed us in Metro Detroit (nev-er imagined I’d ever write anything like that), and with the Memorial Church of Christ, faithful partners with us in Taiwan for the past 16 years. What a t e r r i fi c church! The L o r d h a s also given us

a great team to work alongside! If I could only get them to help with snow removal! #

And, guess what Memorial will have for the first time this Christmas Season? That’s right - a live nativity! It’s been a blessing to contribute from our Taiwan experiences!#

IMPORTANT FINANCIAL INFO: As of Dec. 31st, we will close our Team Expansion account, and turn over any leftover funds to the Team Expansion office. Please discontinue sending financial gifts after December. We would still greatly appreciate your prayers though! We will continue to be involved in Taiwan and with Team Expansion in advisory capacities. Thank you for your years of faithfulness!

November 13-16!Were you there? “Vertical” was the theme. What a great conference and theme as we focused on a Savior for the nations and the power of prayer to accomplish the task! The Gospel is advancing around the world! And how cool it is to be a part of it! Have you adopted an “Unreached People Group yet? Go to www.U4theU.com to find out how! Or, just give me a call!

Reconnecting w/ Our Partners This fall our faithful part-ners in ministry to Taiwan have been such a bless-ing to us. Every- where we go we have been overwhelmed by the love and care we have re-ceived! Even though we won’t be on your doorstep every two years, there’s no reason why you can’t
