Youth Sports
Dr. Cypher is a New York State Licensed Psychologist with a Private Practice in Pittsford, NY. He has over a decade of experience working as a psychologist with youth, high school, college, and professional athletes and their families. He is also an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at URMC, where he serves as a Sport Psychologist and Lead of the Mindset Training program for UR Medicine Fitness Science, a multidisciplinary program for holistic athlete development. Dr. Cypher is a member of the American Psychological Association’s Division for Sport, Exercise, and Performance and the Association for Applied Sport Psychology. Dr. Cypher’s expertise in sport psychology includes expertise in performance enhancement, psychological aspects of injury recovery, and clinical issues for athlete populations. Dr. Cypher currently works with individual athletes, teams, and athletic organizations in the area and throughout North America, including Webster Central School District (WCSD).

Webster Youth Sports Council
Started in 1993, the Webster Youth Sports Council is a youth sports advocacy coalition comprised of community
sports groups in Webster, NY. Additional members include the Webster Central School District Athletic Directory, the Webster
Community Partnership Schedule Coordinator and the Webster Commissioner of Parks & Recreation. The Council represents over
5,000 players and coaches living in the Webster Central School District.
Webster Youth Sports Council Initiatives: • Participant Safety & Education – Focusing on certification,
background checking, abuse, anti-bullying, etc.
• Health & Wellness – Focusing on physical/medical needs, injury prevention, ‘off season’ activities, etc.
• Sportsmanship, Communication & Community Service – Focusing on ‘code of conduct,’ having fun, a website,
supporting the community
• Internal Organization & Community Relations – Focusing on internal support and relationships with
WP&R, WCSD, Webster Chamber, WABO, WHEN, etc.
