Preface Hello friends! I am Swami. I am 9 years old,
living in Malgudi with my parents and
grandmother. I love my grandmother a lot.I share
all my adventures with her. Malgudi is a small
town in Mysore. There are around 50 families
living in this town. We have a school here. Like
all boys of my age, I like to spend most of my
time with my friends. My friends are Rajam,
Samuel and Mani. We were all afraid to go to
school. But our class teacher, Mr.Scott, made us
comfortable. So, we have lots of fun here now.
Join me to have some good time at Malgudi. My
character was created by the author R.K.Narayan,
for his popular series –“Malgudi Days”.
MALGUDI DIARIES
The night before school is exciting and
fun, There are always so many things to be
done. Your clothes are ready, your
backpack too.
Your classroom is full of fun things you will
do. Lots of questions go through your mind, All types of thoughts of every kind.
But sometimes we all get the jitters down
deep That makes it hard to fall fast asleep. So I have made this magic confetti for you, Full
of promises for the whole year through. On
Sunday night when you lay down your head,
Just sprinkle some under your pillow in bed.
The confetti will help you sleep through the
night And wake up in the morning fresh and
bright. I’ll sprinkle the confetti under my
pillow, too Because I am so super excited to see
you.

to know how food was preserved for a longer time, without a
refrigerator.
One Sunday, my (Swami) grandma was making mango pickle and
this gave me an idea to invite my friends home to see and learn
about how the pickle is preserved.
