Happy October!
Ghosts, goblins and
spooks will be around
later this month! Hopeful-
ly, you are greeted by
friendly little ones.
We will have trick or treat-
ing at Arlington Place on October 31 from 5:00-7
p.m. We always have a great turnout of children.
Please bring candy for your resident to hand out to
the trick or treaters. We encourage staff and resi-
dents to dress in costume for the day and evening
too.
Many of you know about some of the special pro-
grams we do here at Arlington Place. One of them
is the “Dare to Dream program”. We love to have
our residents visit a place, do an activity or have an
event that they used to do or have always wanted
to do. If you know of something your family or
friend has always wanted to do, please let us know.
We would love to set up a special “Dare to Dream”
for them.
This year our family Thanksgiving dinner will be
held on November 16 at 11:30 a.m. at Orchard Hill
Church in Grundy Center. We will be sending out
invitations soon.
Enjoy the crisp feel to the weather!

Culinary Coordinator-
Christina Mulnix
I will be leaving Arlington
place. My last day here was
September 27th. I’ve worked
here for over 14 years and
loved cooking for the resi-
dents and getting to know
them. I will truly miss each
and every one of you. It’s time for me to move on
to pursue my hobby of making reborn dolls and
clothes for them and better yet sell them! The new
culinary coordinator will be Elena Schwrdtfeger.
She already works in the kitchen and she will
make a wonderful coordinator. She has a wonder-
ful personality and will do her best to take care of
all your needs and requests. I hope the best for all
of the residents and staff.
Christina Mulnix
If you have a concern or question, please call Kaylene Hoskins, Manager or Karen Shuey, RN Healthcare Coordinator. If it is a general reminder about an appointment etc., please call the com-munity phone. Resident Assistants are not to re-ceive text messages or calls on their personal phones. Thanks

We have had an unexpected heat wave in September. Once the weather starts to turn cooler I will be covering the air conditioners and also checking on the boilers for heat and making sure everything is in working order. Getting ready for the snow to fly! I will be on vacation for the first week of October, so if you
need anything please talk to Kaylene and she will help you. Enjoy the first part of the month and I will be back soon.

Fall has arrived! I love this time of year. The changing color of the leaves and Thanksgiving. There is so much to be thankful for. We have a “ Reach For The Stars” Board hanging up in the activity room. This board is for anyone to
post a note for a staff member or resident that is caught in the act going above and beyond the normal day to day activity. We are wanting to show our appreciation to those that just give a little extra!! We just want to reach out and let them know that what they do, doesn't go unnoticed!
We had one busy week last month due to Assisted liv-ing week . Please check out our pictures from the week. Come in and ask your loved one what they did and how they enjoyed the different activities. A huge thank you for all those who supported us in our Alzhei-mer's walk and helped us bring awareness to this dis-ease.
We are starting to plan for our Thanksgiving meal. It will be November 16th, at 11:30! Please Mark this down and plan to attend. Invites will be sent out soon.
Karen Boyer
Just a gentle reminder that a 24 hour notice is
appreciated for transportation needs. This
allows for staff planning.
Also, when your loved one is celebrating a
birthday, please call Elena to make arrange-
ments for birthday treats.

Resident Spotlight Jean Klosterboer, is our resident spotlight this month. She has lived with us for
the last couple of years. Jean was married to the love of her life Harlen, AKA
Red. They lived in Grundy, and had two children. Jean, worked at the Grundy
Register doing odds and ends. She really enjoyed working. So it would not be
odd to see her putting dishes away or folding towels through out the day. She
likes to stay busy. Some of her favorite things to do are, Bingo, Cards, shopping,
and being outside. Her grand pup, Cozmo , is one of the things that puts a smile
on her face however , her visits from family and friends is what is most im-
portant to her.. Jean is not afraid to try new things and seeks adventure of any
kind or anytime she can.
