TRANSFER CREDITS

Gallaudet University accepts college-level credits from postsecondary schools (both U.S. and international). Grades in transfer courses are not calculated in your Gallaudet grade point average (GPA).

Official transcripts are required for transfer credits to be evaluated and accepted. If you wish to transfer credits from more than one school, you must submit an official transcript from each school attended.

The Office of the Registrar can provide a Transfer Credit Evaluation (TCE) to assist you in planning.

There is a one-year residency requirement for all transfer students, involving a minimum of one year of coursework at Gallaudet before graduation.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN DEGREE COMPLETION OR A SECOND DEGREE

We offer online degree completion programs in Deaf Studies and Psychology. We also offer students with an earned bachelor’s degree the opportunity to earn a second degree. For more information, visit our website*.

IF YOU ARE A HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT TAKING COLLEGE COURSES

If you are a high school student in a dual enrollment program, taking both high school and college courses, you should apply as a first-time freshman. “I grew up in a hearing family and was mainstreamed throughout high school. I struggled to succeed with the limited accommodations provided to me at the collegiate level, and bounced around between 6 different colleges until I arrived at Gallaudet. My experience here, from joining clubs to gaining employment, has been enriching. The opportunities here are unmatched!”
