EIFS—Doing It Right®

AWCI offers EIFS education and certificate programs for EIFS mechanics, inspectors and industry professionals. The content is based on industry accepted standards and best practices. The EIFS instruction is generic and covers application and inspections. Objective exams are given at the conclusion of the program for the three certificate categories. Cer-tificates and wallet cards are awarded to individuals who pass the tests demonstrating understanding of the specialized knowledge.

EIFSmart Contractor SealDesigned for EIFS contracting companies that commit to quality instal-lations, companies receive this distinction when 40 percent of their EIFS work force is AWCI-certified and meets other criteria.

Steel—Doing It Right®

The seminar covers the essential knowledge and techniques for the correct installation of cold-formed steel (CFS); codes and standards affecting CFS; structural (load-bearing) wall assemblies; wind bearing and curtain wall framing; interior systems; roof assemblies; estimating; project management, production and quality control.

Stucco—Doing It Right®

This one-day seminar is based on ASTM C926 and C1063 and covers the application of portland cement-based plaster applied to metal and solid bases. Developed under the guidance of an expert oversight group made up of contractors and manufacturers, some of the topics covered include codes and standards, substrates, design considerations, materials, weather concerns and limitations of materials/stress control/cracking.

Ceilings—Doing It Right®

This one-day seminar covers the proper installation of suspended ceilings, types of surfaces, moldings and accessories, codes and standards, engineer-ing and design considerations, material handling, specialty tools, estimating and project management/quality control.

Gypsum—Doing It Right®

This one day seminar covers codes and standards, design issues, engi-neering, types of gypsum systems and panels, installation, finish sys-tems, molding and accessories, preparation for decoration and project management/quality control.
