hhu.de The Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE) at the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf is seeking to fill the position of a Assistant Professorship (W1) for Industrial Economics and Competition Policy (with Tenure Track to a Full Professorship at W2-Level) as of April 2020 or later. Candidates with a research focus in antit- rust, competition policy or market regulation will be given preference. Prerequisites are an excellent Ph.D. in economics as well as the ability to publish in leading economic journals in the future. This should be documented through an excellent job market paper. The faculty appreciates successful acquisition of competitive third-party funding and an internationally recognised research profile. Conditions for employment are, in addition to general administra- tive conditions in accordance with § 36 of the North Rhine-West- phalia University Act (Hochschulgesetz), an aptitude for teaching, exceptional competence in research, and additional scientific achievements. Employment is initially for three years. Given a successful evaluation in the third year, employment will be renewed for another three years. Conditional on a positive (tenure) evaluation in the sixth year, the position is transformed into a permanent position at full professorship level (German pay scale W2). Female candidates are encouraged to apply; they will be given preference in cases of equal aptitude, ability, and professional achievements unless there are exceptional reasons for choosing another applicant. Applications from suitably qualified severely disabled persons or disabled persons regarded as being of equal status according to Book IX of the German Social Legal Code (SGB – Sozialgesetz- buch) are encouraged.
